April 7, 1940 - March 6, 2025

Wilson “Bill” L. Colton III was kind to all, loved his family, and always helped those around him. He was truly a good man. He was a loving husband of 55 years to Darlene Colton (nee Kautzner). A beloved father to Margaret Colton (Jerry Benns), Kathryn Ronek (David), Kristen Maerli (Matthew). A devoted grandfather to Samantha Dougan (Clay), Nicole Harnes (Thomas), Abigail Ronek, Andrew Ronek, Emma Maerli, Allison Maerli, and great-grandfather to Makenzie Harnes, and Wyatt Dougan. 

He is survived by his sister Linda Robertson (Richard), and he was a beloved brother-in-law, uncle, and great-uncle.

Mr. Colton was preceded in death by his father, Wilson L. Colton Jr., his mother, Emma L. Colton, and his siblings, James Colton and Betty “Mitzi” Lynch. 

Mr. Colton was the owner & craftsman of Jewelmaster Jewelers for 30+ years in the Festus/Crystal City area. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1959 to 1963, during which he participated in the Cuban Missle Crisis aboard the USS Charles F. Adams.

Services: Visitation is at Kutis Funeral Home, Affton at 10151 Gravois, Monday, March 10, 2 pm-9 pm. Funeral Mass is at St. Paul Catholic Church, Fenton Tuesday, March 11, at 9:30 am, followed by Internment at JB National Cemetary at 11:30 am.

    All of us in the Sindel family will keep you, your children and grandchildren in our prayers through this tough journey. Bill was such a friendly and nice person and you were blessed to have him for such a long time! May God comfort all of you in knowing that Bill is at peace in Heaven and is experiencing eternal peace. All of you have a very special guardian angel watching over you! Keep talking to him because he’s closer to us than we realize and can hear you! Sending lots of love & hugs to all of you!
