In Loving Memory

Vischer, Johannes R. “Hans”

In Loving Memory of Our Beloved Opa, Johannes “Hans” Richard Vischer
April 23, 1939 – April 18, 2026

Hans is survived by his son, Scott (Doris); daughters Monica, Tina, Cheryl (Robert), and Russ (Katie); his sister Else Schneider; grandchildren James (Melanie), Jennifer (Gary), Jessica, Jordan, Clayton, Corey, Timothy, and Rieley; and great‑grandchildren Madelyn, Theodore, Eloise, and Lincoln. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Carol, and his brother.

He was a devoted father, husband, grandfather, great‑grandfather, brother, and friend. He passed away peacefully in his Oakville home of more than fifty years — a place filled with love and countless memories shared by our family and the many friends whose lives he touched.

Born in Germany, Hans immigrated to the United States in 1955. He later returned to Germany while serving in the U.S. Army, where he played for the Army’s soccer team—an experience he deeply valued for the friendships it brought him.

He loved fishing, boating, tinkering in his workshop, and, most of all, spending time with family. He was present for both the everyday moments and the meaningful milestones, always making birthdays feel special. From lunch outings and fishing at the park to finding the perfect Christmas tree and driving around to see holiday lights, he created lasting memories that will be cherished forever.

He was always ready to lend a hand—tending bonfires, cleaning up after storms, and even in his eighties, stubbornly climbing onto the roof to clear branches and gutters. He loved watching soccer and, in his younger years, was an avid and skilled player, including playing for the Meramec Sports Club.

A heartfelt thank you to the Blarney Stone staff for their kindness and good humor, which brought Hans joy and kept him smiling.

His life reflected devotion, hard work, and love—a lasting legacy that will continue to guide and inspire everyone fortunate enough to have known him.

He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
