Edward E. Kendrick of Sainte Genevieve, MO died on Monday, November 18, 2019 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He was 88 years old. Edward was born on November 11, 1931 in Polk County Arkansas to Hersell Kendrick and Bertie Marie (Maxwell) Kendrick. Edward was one of five children (Charles E. Kendrick, Carl R. Kendrick, Ella Mae Brown, and Linda Sue Dickens. Edward’s parents and all his siblings have preceded him in death. Edward married Barbara Ann Reese on December 26, 1952. They would have celebrated 67 years of marriage December 2019. They were devoted to each other and were rarely, if ever apart. Edward is survived by his wife, Barbara and his daughter, Theresa Y. Worley and her husband James A. Worley of Sainte Genevieve. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Jennifer L. Stratman and her husband, Timothy W. Stratman of Bellevue, Colorado, Jeramie L. Worley and his wife, Kelly E. (Whitaker) Worley of Branson, MO. Edward was lucky enough to have three great-grandchildren, Daphne Yvonne, Ethan James, and Ellis Kendrick Worley also of Branson, MO. Edward dearly loved his grandchildren and found great joy in his great grandchildren. Edward worked for American Can Company in St. Louis, MO for 33 years and was the Regional Director of Quality Engineering. Edward was retired for 30 years and lived many of those retired years at The Lake of the Ozarks where he and Barbara enjoyed fishing, boating and his favorite pastime – golf. He and Barbara moved to Sainte Genevieve, MO 16 years ago and lived in the golf course development of Zell Country Club Village. They thoroughly enjoyed their time and made many friends. Edward was a devoted Christian and served the church in many ways. He was a worship leader, a preacher, a Sunday school teacher, a mentor and served on the Board of Deacons. For the last 16 years he attended Calvary Christian Center in Festus, MO Flowers accepted or memorials may be made to Mercy Hospice Care in Festus, Zell Volunteer Fire Department, or Sainte Genevieve Memorial Hospital. We have great respect for each of these organizations. |
