Rickard, Terrance Leonard

On Sunday, October 30, 2022.  Beloved husband of Edwina Rickard (nee: Ferns)  Dear father of Edward Terrance (Cassie) Rickard.  Dear step-father of JoAnn (Steve) Lee, Chris (Dena) O’Brien and Lisa (partner Bud) O’Brien.  Dear grandfather of Benjamin, Nolan, Adelynn, Shane, Hillary, Holly and Tyler.  Dear brother of Celeste Wilson. Preceded in death by parents Leonard and Lavaun Rickard, sister Marlene White, and brother Timothy (JoAnn deceased) Rickard.  Our dear great-grandfather, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend of many.  Services:  Funeral at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois, on Thursday, November 3 at 11am.  Interment St. Lucas Cemetery.  Donations to the Greater Missouri Alzheimer’s Association or Meals on Wheels of Greater St. Louis, P.O. Box 410395,  St. Louis, MO 63141, appreciated.  Visitation Wednesday 4-8pm.

• Terry graduated from Bishop Dubourg High School, class of 1965; and received a B.S. in Education from the University of Missouri – Columbia, in 1969, and he also completed graduate courses from University of Missouri – St. Louis in education.
• He began his working life teaching 6th grade at Clyde Hamrick School in Jefferson Heights, MO, and later Social Studies at the secondary level.  He then moved into municipal government roles which included Health Commissioner, Director of Public Works, City Administrator, City Clerk, and City Manager, for the cities of Jennings, Mountain Grove, and Bonne Terre, Missouri. Terry finished his professional life working for the St.Louis County Department of Health and retired in 2012.
• Terry was a St. Louisan through and through, as many also knew him as an avid fan of Mizzou football and basketball, and he adored St. Louis Cardinals baseball.  He also enjoyed playing many sports, including volleyball, basketball, and any kind of ball with his son and grandchildren.  He was also a lover of animals and all things nature.
• Terry was raised in the Catholic Church, but in his adult life moved to the Protestant faith with his wife and son; including a deacon role at Jennings Presbyterian. Additionally, he was the church bus driver which assisted the elderly; and he was an active member of the First Christian Church of Bonne Terre, and the Affton Presbyterian Church.
