  1. Christine was the best neighbor and was the unofficial neighborhood watch of our little neighborhood. She was most proud of living On The Hill. We spent many evenings just hanging out on my back porch petting my dogs and chatting about our roller derby past. I always knew I could count on her for good conversation and an “I love you!!” As she walked across the street to her house. I love you, too, Christine. So much.

  3. Christine was a much loved niece of Becky, Cathi and me. We were so excited when she was born! She shares my middle name. Her Grandma Scott and Grandma Winnie loved her so much. Grandma Winnie and Christine would have “coffee” together when she spent the weekend with her and my Mom. We had many years apart but reconnected much to my delight and gratitude. This is going to take a long time to heal and I’m not sure it will ever heal the pain in my heart. I know that our Lord welcomed you into His Kingdom the moment your breath left your body. You will forever be in my heart and prayers.

  4. Christine was an amazing human, and always there for the underdog. She was a fierce derby competitor and loved her friends just as fiercely. I will miss her deeply.

  5. Christine arranged the flowers for our wedding, and for our mother’s funeral. We knew we could count on Christine to bring beauty and grace to these important life events. We became friends with Christine. She was a good listener and made us feel important in her life. We are very sorry for your sudden loss.

  6. It sucks that you’re gone. I wish I’d texted you more after I left STL. To your family: I’m so sorry, and I wish I could make the funeral (I’m flying home to the DC area from Florida that day).

  7. I’m still stunned. I lived next door to Christine for 11 years, and we became friends the moment I moved in. Some of my fondest memories of the last 15 years were spent with Christine on my back porch as our dogs played. She was passionate and talented. She genuinely cared about the world around her, compassion and empathy ever present in how she treated both humans and animals. I like to believe she’s watching over our old pack, playing with Scout, and Daisy, and Deuce and Gustav.

The world lost someone special. I lost a good friend.

  8. i will always remember “Beanie’s” smile, but even more so her laughter.
It makes me smile to think of that.
    Her big, joyful laughter.
It’s been many years since I’d seen her, but
it is still so sad to hear of her passing.
Christine was a gentle and sweet person.
And it is so like the girl i knew, to read the comments of her looking out for her neighbors, of how she was protecting and caring towards others.
For Christine’s family and friends, i am saying prayers for your comfort, and for all those good memories to be close, for everything good and helpful that God can send your way, for healing through this tough loss, please know you are loved.

  9. We met Christine one time at the Japanese festival with her father Mark. He was so proud of her design and quality of work with her floral arrangements. I remember seeing her Beautiful floral arrangements at our cousins’ wedding. What a gift she was to St Louis.

  10. Christine was funny, sweet, she could rock out some floral arrangements and skate like no one’s business. We’re going to miss you, Beanie girl. Love you.

  11. Christine was a great mentor and derby mate. My husband and I met and bonded over Pearl Jam long before derby, and we thought it was cool to meet someone as passionate about the music as we were. We’d always contact her once we knew they were coming to StL or Chicago to compare seats, etc. And text later about the sets, etc. My heart hurts for people who knew her better than I and loved her. I hope she’s hearing all the best tunes now. “Society, you’re a crazy breed; I hope you’re not lonely without me.” The world WILL be a bit lonelier now. I hope people find strength in their memory and treat people kindly, the way she would.
