November 15, 1943 - July 6, 2023

Bonnell, Donald Ray. Welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Thursday July 6, 2023 after a long fought battle with cancer. Husband of Joan (née Hein). Father of Jeff, Janet, Jennifer Gagan (John), Julie Finocchiaro (Joseph) and Jonathan. Grand father of Jerrid, Jackson, Jay, Emily, Maggie, Norah,Will and Cole. Great grandfather of Silas. Brother of Joan Barker (Bruce) and Ronald Bonnell.  Preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Carmen (née Ryan) Bonnell. Uncle to many. Special thanks to BJC Hospice for their support as he was cared for by Joan at home.
There will be no public service per his request. In lieu of flowers please donate to BJC Hospice. In his honor grab your favorite beverage (his preference was Busch beer) at home or your favorite watering hole, fill your pipe with your favorite tobacco, go outside and wave to the neighbors and people driving by.

  4. Joan & family, I just learned of Don’s passing this evening. He and brother Ron were good friends to me. I was glad I got to visit with them when visiting my son in Belleville several years ago. My deepest sympathy to your family and Ron
