Bowers, Barbara J. (Nee Ludwig). Friday, May 12th 2023. Beloved Wife of the late Richard E Bowers for 63 years; dear mother of Teresa (Paul) Hill and Kevin (Mary Beth) Bowers; dear grandmother of Matthew (Lydia) Hill, Joshua (Lauren) Hill, Sarah (Mike) Dillon, Leanne (Nathan) Casey, Sharon (Jason) Chadbourne and Melissa Bowers; dear great grandmother of Violet, Justice, Henry, Catherine Anne, Marian, Alice, Titus, Ainsley, Walker, Josie, Declan, Jude, Nora, Jane and Finn; dear sister of Wanda Schuette and the late Doris Vangilder. Our dear aunt, great aunt, cousin and friend.

Barbara and Richard loved to travel the U.S. and enjoyed their three trips to Hawaii. Barbara was a Sunday School teacher and choir member at First Baptist Church Arnold. Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church Arnold for 63 years and retired secretary at Ridgewood Middle School in the Fox School District. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were a source of great joy, but her love of the Lord was her delight.

Services:  Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63129) on Sunday, May 21st from 4-8pm, then to First Baptist Church of Arnold on Monday, May 22nd for visitation at 9:00am until service at 10:00am. Interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to First Baptist Church of Arnold Missions or Sports Programs appreciated.

  1. My prayers are with the family. A wonderful lady and friend of many years.
    She and Richard were inspirational, fun and wonderful Christians. I could always depend on a smile and good word from Barbara. She meant a lot to me and my late wife Gretta. She will be greatly missed. Looking forward to seeing her one day on Heaven’s shores.

  2. Barbara was a nice lady my dad Darold Cameron was the first Custodian at Ridgewood . Barbara was a sweetheart to my dad Richard &Barbara was wonderful people to Darold Cameron we are praying for the family we love you all.

  3. I’m so sad for your loss but Oh how I can only imagine when she saw Jesus face to face. I grew up knowing her and Mr. BOWERS at FBCA and at Ridgewood. Thinking of you all. May God’s beautiful peace be your strength.

  4. Andy and I send our condolences to the family. Barb was such a sweet, sweet lady. Loved seeing her in church, always so faithful. She is with Jesus our Savior now and with her sweet husband, Richard Bowers. Peace and blessings to all the family at FBCA and in Jackson MO.
