Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Monday, October 28, 2024.
Beloved wife of Mark Bromeier; loving mother of Karen Bromeier, Rosanne “Rosie” (Brad) Abramczyk, David (Kathryn) Bromeier, Kimberly Bromeier, Adam Bromeier, Thomas Bromeier and Jessica Bromeier; adoring grandmother of Amos Abramczyk; cherished daughter of the late Ralph and Margaret Koenigsman; dear sister of Sharon (Dale) Swope, Mary (Dimitri) Siscos, Rita (the late Don) Rowlison, Steven Koenigsman and Jane Koenigsman; dear sister-in-law of Brenda Corbin. Our dearest aunt, great-aunt, cousin and friend to many.
In the windswept prairie town of Beloit, Kansas, Linda (Koenigsman) Bromeier was born. She would grow up to have a rippling effect in the world of Catholic education and beyond while bringing up a family with her college sweetheart and husband of 43 years, Mark Bromeier. In the midst of raising seven lively children in St. Louis, Missouri, Linda managed to write, illustrate, and self-publish the Little Angel Readers for teaching children to read with phonics, led the early Catholic homeschool movement, and acted as a founding board member of Gateway Academy. She taught her own children by homeschooling for 15 years and also taught children in private and public schools for over 20 years, specializing in remedial reading. Linda’s pursuits outside of education included gardening, reading for fun, outdoor adventures, home renovation, watching old western movies, and chicken ranching with her herd dog, Oliver. She was not without enemies, including Bermuda grass, moles, and landscape-munching deer. Some of her greatest joys were socializing with her many family members and friends, participating in prayer/bible study groups, and going on adventures with her grandson. Above all she was a woman of faith who deeply loved God and her family, for whom she sacrificed much and by whom she is already greatly missed.
Our family, especially Mark (and Linda), would like to thank all our relatives, friends, coworkers, meal providers, prayer blanket makers, and hairdresser. We especially want to thank all the prayer warriors, from all reaches of God’s beautiful earth, who have prayed and are still praying for Linda and our family. Your love, compassion, concern, and prayers were and are truly felt. May God bless you for all that you have done.

I only met your mother a few times but during those times, she was a brave and driven woman. She worked with my husband and I on a neighborhood issue. I believe she helped seal the deal! As fellow Christians, we love the sign in their front yard. We wish you all and your father the peace of God to help you through this. May your memories bring you comfort.
Linda was the founder of the Catholic homeschool movement in St. Louis. Her field trips and holy day gatherings brought fledgling Catholic homeschoolers together for camaraderie and spiritual nourishment. She will be forever remembered as a pioneer and our fearless leader. May she rest in peace.
I met Linda at a couple of homeschool conferences, where I got to tell her how much I loved her Little Angel books. My daughters use them now for their own children. Thank you to a kind and humble lady! Rest in peace, faithful servant. Susie Lloyd

Linda was so helpful to me at the Catholic homeschool conferences, helping me with ideas to help teach my dyslexic daughter to read. Said daughter learned to read well using tips from Linda and is soon to graduate college! I’ve kept all our Little Angel Reader books to share with my grandchildren. May she rest in peace.
[Dear Mark, losing a loved one is very painful. Every new day makes us realize how much we miss them.
But it is comforting to know how many people appreciated Linda and are accompanying her on her final journey.]
We definitely loss a warrior when Linda passed away. If anyone knew Linda, they would know how important her Faith and family were to her. They were worth fighting for, and fighting she did! I met Linda at St. Agatha’s Catholic Church where she went against the mainstream Catholic Faith to attend the Mass of All Ages. She felt the importance of having her family attend the Tridentine Mass and made many sacrifices to do so. She and Mark decided to home school their children when it was sometimes dangerous and unacceptable. They did so to be able to hand down to their children the Catholic Faith. She started the first Catholic home-schooling support group in the St. Louis area, which gave us newbies the confidence to follow her. For those who homeschooling wasn’t an option, she helped establish a Catholic private school not under the auspice of the modernist Church. Over the years, when a call to action would be sent out from the Prolife groups, political action groups, etc., she was always there and ready to stand her ground, the Catholic ground. She even developed a phonic program named after the angels and took it into the public sector!!! She will be missed, but she has left her mark.
“Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her and may she rest in peace,” now that her fighting days are over. However, I’m sure she will be fighting for us up there now more than ever.
To Linda’s family,
I am so very sorry to hear of Linda’s passing. She will be missed. May she RIP. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I am so saddened to hear of Linda’s passing. I have been praying for her ever. since I found out about her diagnosis. She was a great mentor to those of us who had questions about homeschooling. I used her Little Angel Reading program for my children. She has touched so many hearts! God rest her soul!
