Joan Dorothy Bubash passed away on April 14, 2026, Fortified with the Sacraments of the Holy Mother Church after a brief illness. She was born in St. Louis and was the daughter of the late Emil and Anne Bubash of St. Louis. She was the 4th oldest child of 11 children.
She graduated from Our Lady of Sorrows grade school and Bishop DuBourg High School. She attended the University of Kansas, University of Missouri at Columbia and the New York Institute of Fashion Design where she pursued her dream of becoming a fashion designer. She lived in New York for 10 years working in the fashion industry. She then moved to Chicago where she lived for 10 years also working in the fashion industry. She then changed careers and began working for Time Life. She was transferred to Tampa, Florida where she continued working for Time Life until her retirement. She continued living in Tampa, Florida until the present.
She did some world traveling during her life time in her younger years.
She recently moved back to her roots in St. Louis to be closer to her family and move into Assisted Living.
She is survived by her siblings; Barbara J. Bubash (Mary Beattie), Donna K. Bubash (Douglas Dorfman), Michael G. Bubash (Judy), Patricia J. Bubash, Beverly A. Shaw ( the late Roger), David C. Bubash, Jeanine Pelikan (the late Douglas) (Frank Page), the late Marianne and William Walbridge, the late Norman M. Bubash (Mary) and the late Emil Jr. and Catherine Bubash.
She was a sister, cousin, great great aunt and friend to many.
SERVICES: A celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, April 29 at Seven Holy Founders Catholic Church in Affton. Visitation at 10 am and Mass to follow at 11 am.
Masses preferred. Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Parkinson’s Foundation.
