  2. Be in peace now, Joan. Your long life gave you adventures. The last time I was with you was at the wedding of Julie & Patrick. We were together at the dining table and happy festivities. Over the years we spoke over the phone for many hours. You were a person who enjoyed talking. Watch over us.

  4. To Jeanine (and all Joan’s family): My heartfelt condolences at your sister Joan’s passing. I met your sister Patty many years ago but never had the good fortune to have met Joan. I didn’t realize you were from a family of 11 kids! From the obituary I can see that Joan was an amazing woman—like you! Love to you and to all your siblings, nieces, and nephews.

  6. Joan was very intelligent, creative, and competitive. She especially enjoyed New York Times crossword puzzles and trivia. She was observant to designs, architecture, culture. I learned much about her and loved her dearly these last five years visiting often in Tampa, Florida before bringing Joan to St. Louis to be near family.

  7. Aunt Joan, I was never more pleased than when you offered “to be my mom”! I loved when you got to drop by my house and we just talked and talked. I could see myself in you so much! You always had a happy spark in your eyes and kept a sense of humor tucked away in any situation. I admired that about you!
