In Loving Memory

Bullock, James M.

May 8, 1954 - March 27, 2025

James M. Bullock passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 27th, surrounded by family. He was 70 years old. James was born in Columbia, MS in 1954 but spent the majority of his childhood in St. Louis, MO where he attended Central Institute for the Deaf. A nature lover, he was very active in the Boy Scouts and as an adult carried that love of the outdoors by spending much of his free time camping with friends. James was a “fixer” and could often be found helping friends and family work on projects around the house. He loved NASCAR, most specifically Dale Earnhardt, and spent many Sunday afternoons watching the race on TV while drinking his beer. James loved to cook and was always looking for new recipes to try but he was a southern boy at heart and his favorite dish to make was red beans and rice with cornbread.

James leaves behind his surviving family members: his wife, Melinda; his daughters, Gabriella “Gabe” Patana (Matthew) and Samantha “Sammy” Bullock; his grandchildren, Ruby and Reid; and his brother, Lee Bullock. He was preceded in death by his father, Marion E. Bullock and his mother, Patricia Williams Bullock. James will forever be remembered by his goofy jokes and silly sense of humor, and will be missed by many.

Services: Memorial visitation at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Road Tuesday, April 1, 2025, 4-7pm.  Concludes at funeral home.

I miss my childhood and best friend, James. He was a true Southerner.. We did camp, travel, and enjoy our lives during our younger days.

I will see him someday at the other side.

May he rest in eternal peace!

    Love always,
    Paul

  5. Please accept my sympathy in Jim’s passing. We were friends throughout high school and studied regularly together. I kept up with Jim and his family through his mother who lived in Columbia. I hope you all have moments of peace that pass understanding. He was a joy to know.
