Burns, Lillian M. (nee Strauser)

 

passed away at the age of 101 on Thursday,  December 27, 2018, peacefully and surrounded by family and friends at Mason Manor, a Dolan Memory Care Home in Creve Coeur, Missouri. She is survived by sons Robert Burns of St. Louis, and Thomas (Susan) Burns of Boonville, Missouri; grand-  children Christopher (Jana) Heuer, Steven (Michelle) Heuer, Shannon Burns of Chicago, Tricia Isgrig of Centralia, Missouri;  sisters Dorothy Roberts and Betty Durrer, great and great-great-grandchildren, cousins and friends. She is predeceased  by her daughter Marie Heuer.

Lillian was born in Frankclay, Missouri to Norma and Amos F. Strauser on November 22, 1917, one of eleven children. She graduated from high school in Bismark, Missouri and attended community college in Flat River, Missouri. She retired in St. Louis as a federal employee of the Department of the Army in 1983, where she was a Deputy Finance Officer. She was an  active bowler and golfer, and enjoyed participating in activities at the Affton Community Center.

Services: Visitation at KUTIS AFFTON Chapel, 10151 Gravois, Wednesday, January 2, 10:30 a.m. until services at 11:30 a.m.  Interment St. Paul Churchyard. Memorials to

Alzheimer’s Association appreciated.
