Clancy, James R. peacefully passed March 4, 2025 at the age of 85.

Proceeded in death by his wife Virginia (Ginny) Clancy (nee Thimmig). Father to Julie (George) Jokisch, Michael (Lori) Clancy, Colin (Jenn Hunn) Clancy, Megan (Tyler) Shafer, Bridget (Aaron Bruschi) Clancy.  Dear grandfather of Jacob (Jamie Klammert) Jokisch, Rachel (Nick Jennerjohn) Jokisch, Lisa Jokisch, James (Bree) Clancy, Sean (Jenna) Clancy, Lilian Shafer, Sydney Shafer, Bryce Clancy, Keegan Clancy, and Dominic Bruschi. Great grandfather to Jayden, Jordan, Callahan, and Finn.

He was the son of the late Robert and Katherine Clancy and dear brother, brother in law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Jim was a proud member of the Glaziers Local Union 513 (59 yrs) and an avid golfer.

Visitation is at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois, Thursday March 13 from 5-8 PM.

Memorial contributions can be made to $5 for the Fight (c/o St. Louis Labor Council, 3301 Hollenberg Dr., Bridgeton, MO 63044) or the Alzheimer’s Foundation.

  1. Sending my condolences to the family to lose I said such an amazing bedrock father and grandfather. His absence will be impossible to fill, hopefully his memory can live on through family stories and in the moral compass he instilled throughout his guidance in life.

  4. My dad, Gene was Jim’s neighbor for a short while. I got him to sit outside on the patio with us quite a few times. He was always so sweet:)
