Marilyn K (Mattingly) Clippard, 71, of Festus, Missouri passed away on Thursday, February 5th 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. Marilyn was born in Perryville, Missouri on October 1, 1954. She is survived by her beloved husband, Dan Clippard, two sons Chris (Amber) Buchheit and Justin (Suzanne) Buchheit, and three granddaughters, Ella, Channing, Mattingly, and her best friend, her horse Principe.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Stella (Lawrence) Mattingly, brother Paul, sister Joan, and her beloved dog Sugar.
Marilyn leaves a legacy as welcoming and warm as her cooking and as sweet as her famous chocolate cake. She was an avid baker, her cakes and cookies brought joy to countless children, grandchildren and co-workers for decades.
Marilyn found joy in the simple, everyday moments and was happiest spending her afternoon caring for her horses or with her hands in a flowerbed. She took pride in her work and made lasting friendships with her colleagues. Her heart was fullest when she was with her family, and her granddaughters were her absolute pride and joy.
Following her wishes for cremation, we invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 4-7pm at Kutis Funeral Home to share stories, laughter, and comfort.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or Long Meadow Horse Rescue.
