In Loving Memory

Clippard, Marilyn K.

October 1, 1954 - February 5, 2026

Marilyn K (Mattingly) Clippard, 71, of Festus, Missouri passed away on Thursday, February 5th 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer.  Marilyn was born in Perryville, Missouri on October 1, 1954.  She is survived by her beloved husband, Dan Clippard, two sons Chris (Amber) Buchheit and Justin (Suzanne) Buchheit, and three granddaughters, Ella, Channing, Mattingly, and her best friend, her horse Principe.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Stella (Lawrence) Mattingly, brother Paul, sister Joan, and her beloved dog Sugar.

Marilyn leaves a legacy as welcoming and warm as her cooking and as sweet as her famous chocolate cake.  She was an avid baker, her cakes and cookies brought joy to countless children, grandchildren and co-workers for decades.

Marilyn found joy in the simple, everyday moments and was happiest spending her afternoon caring for her horses or with her hands in a flowerbed.  She took pride in her work and made lasting friendships with her colleagues.  Her heart was fullest when she was with her family, and her granddaughters were her absolute pride and joy.

Following her wishes for cremation, we invite you to join us for a Celebration of Life on Monday, February 16, 2026, from 4-7pm with a service at 6:30PM at Kutis Funeral Home (5255 Lemay Ferry) to share stories, laughter, and comfort.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the  American Cancer Society  or Long Meadow Horse Rescue.

Condolences

  6. To my friend Marilyn,
You, me and Sunshine (3 French Hens) sure had a time together working at the prison. I enjoyed my time with your friendship very much. I am sure Principe will be lost without you. Your Momma, Sons/wives and your grand girls were the lights of your life and I loved hearing you speak of them. I also loved your famous chocolate cake especially after the kids went to Africa and you made it with those ingredients. You were such a beautiful sojl that lived an amazing life, you will be missed dearly.
    Love

  8. Aunt Marilyn was loved by everyone. She loved Dan, Chris & Amber, Justin & Suzanne and those grand girls with all she had! I loved hearing her talk about spending time with you all!!
Marilyn was a giver!! She was always there for Grandma and Mom and was always ready to help however she could. I thought we had more time. When my mom passed, she told me we have to get together and do coffee. I was looking forward to those coffee dates.
Even though she was a giver, she was very selfless and did not want to be a burden to anyone. It’s hard to say goodbye but the comfort is knowing she is no longer in pain!
Sending you all love & prayers for comfort & peace!!
