In Loving Memory

Fisk, Sr., Carl E.

October 9, 1934 - October 6, 2025

Carl E. Fisk, Sr.  Monday, October 6, 2025.  Beloved husband of Betty Jean Fisk for 74 years; beloved father of Carl E. Fisk Jr., Clay (Janet) Fisk and Shelley (James) Ringhofer; beloved grandpa of Danielle, James, Thomas (Crystal), Joshua (Jessi), Carla (Jake), Chase, Carl III and Blake; beloved great grandpa of Nevaeh, Jaxon, Alexandria, Liam, Alivia, Alyssa, Callie, Roman, Quincy, Cadence; beloved great great grandpa of Oaklee Jean; beloved brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend.

Born Oct. 9, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri, he married the love of his life Betty at 16 and started what he was most proud of, his family. A jack of all trades, he never met a job he couldn’t tackle. Decades of being an asbestos worker and insulator by trade, his hobbies included all types of construction, home building, working the farm, and tinkering on any vehicle or tractor engine he could get his hands on. And fishing.

He greeted friends and strangers alike with a smile and a story. So very many stories. Most often about his wife or his grandchildren. He valued hard work above all. He never met a stranger he wouldn’t help. To him everyone was worthy of a second chance. If you met Carl, your first meeting was rarely going to be your last. He was loving, caring, determined, and inquisitive about life.

He was happiest having meals with family, or on top of one of his many tractors. Later in life, he took great pride in caring for his beloved wife Betty. He will be greatly missed by all lucky enough to have known him.

Services:  Funeral at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Road Wednesday, October 15, 2025, 10am.  Interment Shepherd Hills Cemetery.  Visitation Tuesday 4-7pm.

Condolences

  1. I met Carl many, many years ago and we were joined as a family in 2007.Carl and Betty welcomed our new family with open arms. Although we are still not technically related, I think of them still as family. He will be missed. He is at peace now with our Heavenly Father. The Lord has gained a good man.

  2. When we were all in high school, I remember Carl being in attendance if one of the 3 of his kids was playing a sport. What a great legacy he leaves.

  3. My uncle Carl was really a good man. I always really liked Carl. He would always encourage me when I was going through difficult times finding my way in life. He was a good mediator with my father and I.

As we all know, my dad and Carl grew up as brothers, along with Aunt JoAnn. I am glad our families are well grounded in the Lord, as imperfect as we all are.
    God is good.

The beautiful obituary above is very accurate and very touching to my heart. Anyone who knew Carl will tell you that on the day he died, Carl heard these words from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,
“Well done good and faithful servant, well done”.

  7. This man was the ultimate patriarch. He was unfailingly instructive, supportive, hard working, and he set a strong example of how he expected his world to run. Mr. Fisk was a familiar face at school functions where his children were participating, and always shared smiles and stories with everyone. He leaves behind the tight knit family he led through the years. My sympathies go out to his family and all those who loved him. May he rest in peace.
