age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 11, 2026. Loving husband of the late June Franks (nee Ortleb). Dear father of Susan (Tom) Patrick and the late Patti Taylor. Dear grandfather of Mark (Tiffany) Taylor, Mackenzie (Nick) Nouri, Paul (Jamie) Taylor, Haley (Keith) Hahn and Keegan Patrick. Treasured great grandfather of Russ, Grace, Beau and Briar Taylor.
June and Hal married in 1957 and celebrated 64 wonderful years together. Hal’s great loves were God and family. He was a simple man; work, coming home to the woman that he loved, having food on the table and a place to hang his hat, that’s what made him thrive.
Hal had an associate’s degree from Harris Teachers College, sang in the church choir, Navy veteran, recovery and professional talker. Hal loved to fish and hunt. In recent years, he endured the loss of his beloved wife and eldest daughter, but he remained grateful for a life well lived.
SERVICES: Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel (10151 Gravois Road Affton, Missouri 63123) on Monday, March 16, 8:30 a.m. until funeral service at 9:30 a.m. Interment with full military honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Contributions to Hope United Church of Christ appreciated.
My deepest sympathies and condolences to Tom, Susan, Kenzie, Haley, and Keegan for your loss.
I will miss Hal and yelling each about our times in the military.
He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Such a terrific and wonderful man.
My condolences to Susan and all of Hal’s family. I knew Hal and June from South St Louis Dental Group. They were the sweetest couple and the whole staff looked forward to seeing them. Several times they brought us sweet treats. Hershey bars, Gooey Butter cakes etc.
Take comfort in that they are together again. Sincerely, Robin Macke
My deepest condolences to you Susan and your Family on the loss of your dear Father. I know that Hal is happy now united with his Bride. June and Hal were the dearest friends.
Love you Susan and please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Our deepest sympathies. Wonderful man!
Prayers for peace and comfort to you and your family Susan. Your dad was such a kind, gentlel man. I treasure the times I spent with Patti at your home and at Church. Your entire family was the best. Hugs to you for comfort.
