Deborah Goebel

In Loving Memory

Goebel, Deborah “Vicky”

January 10, 1957 - January 26, 2026

Vicky was born on January 10, 1957, and passed into eternity on January 26, 2026 after a two-week battle with breathing difficulties. She was born in Saint Louis, MO and attended Lutheran South High School and Florissant Valley Community College. She fell in love with her husband Joel while working at County Hospital in 1979, and they were married on January 31, 1981. Throughout Joel’s medical training and career, Vicky was the consummate partner and mother to their two children – Shannon (1982) and Stacey (1988) and Simone, their transfer exchange student from Switzerland. She joined the New Apostolic Church before their wedding and was intimately involved with church fellowships, Sunday School teaching, choir, and event planning. Even through her battles with breast cancer in 2010 and leukemia in 2014, she was always upbeat and ready to do her part in the congregation. She enjoyed crafting and in recent years used this talent to make and send cards to people to in times of celebration or hardship, always thinking of others first. She loved to travel to our summer condo in Cassopolis, MI and found an equally warm and receptive church community there.

Vicky is survived by her husband Joel, her daughters Shannon (Joe) Hoffman and Stacey (Billy) Kane, grandchildren Nora, William, Clare, and Addilyn, and her sister Pamela Kuehn.

Always upbeat, never discouraged, ready to console and an undying love for the Lord will be her legacy.

A funeral service will be held on February 14, 2026, in the New Apostolic Church at 9701 MacKenzie Road, Affton, MO 63123. The family will receive visitors from 12 – 1:30 pm and the service will begin at 2 pm. The service will also be streamed on the church’s YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/live/0AwSetrJ8rk). In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the New Apostolic Church Youth Fund or Blood Cancer United (formerly the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society – https://bloodcancerunited.org).

Condolences
