Beloved wife of the late William L. Gorman Jr. Dear mother of Laurie (Dave) Welsch, William (Laurie) Gorman, Stephen (Laura) Gorman and Christopher (Mary) Gorman. Dear grandmother of Libby (Neil) Erker, Meghan Welsch, Joseph Welsch, Ashley (Taylor) Spina, Kelly (Zane Stringer) Gorman, Allison Gorman, Joseph Gorman, Crystal Gorman, Terra Gorman, Patrick Gorman and Sean Gorman. Dear great grandmother of David, Daisy, Sammy, Harper, Hadley, Ella, Graham, Kensley, Kiera and Tristan. Dear sister of Ralph (Barbara) Rubano and the late Judith (surviving Frank) Busch. Our dear aunt, cousin and friend.
Mary was a published writer, serving as the president of The Saint Louis Writers Guild for several years. She began her career by writing a weekly column for a small suburban newspaper. Her human interest stories were widely read and celebrated for their interesting and unique perspectives of her subjects. She decided to make the transition to children’s literature and wrote a trio of stories that delighted a younger group of readers. Mary possessed many gifts; her elegance, intelligence, love of travel and an intense curiosity to learn new things made her such an interesting individual. Her greatest gift, however, was her compassion, kindness and fierce devotion to her family and friends. Mary’s light shone brightly and we will miss her beautiful presence.

Gorman Family. I am so sorry for your loss. Your mother was such a sweet woman.
Dear Laurie,
I’m so grateful that your arranged my visit with Your Mom last summer. My late wonderful wife Judith (your moms sister) were very close friends and talked almost every day. Judith looks over things from heaven and now Judith can teach Mary the ropes and I’m sure you will get messages from her using little signs you will recognize.
May your mom rest in peace thru the merits of Our Lord and savior Jesus Chrust.
Your Uncle Frank Busch
I am so sad to hear this, my love and prayers to all.💔
My dear Gorman Family, what a beautiful tribute to your mother. Your mother and grandmother, Mary (but always Mrs. Gorman to me) was a special friend to me. Our conversations were always filled with laughter and interesting tales of her life and travels. She inspired me to be a more conscientious and thoughtful person. Mrs. Gorman’s words of advice and compassion soothed my soul and her hugs warmed my heart.
She told me many times that love is God’s most important commandment. I’ll remember that.
My deepest condolences to all of you.
Denise
Mary and I worked together for many years and your mother was a wonderful friend. Me being a very young lady when me met and your mother full of life experiences, always had great advice. In fact Laurie and I were the same age. We kept in touch for many years and then lost touch. Today (4/17) I was looking through my old recipe book and found recipes from Mary. As fate has it – I thought I am going to reach out to Mary and when I tired searching for her – her obituary came up. My sincere condolences for your loss. I heard so much about Laurie Billy Stephen and Chris when working with your Mother – I felt like I knew all of you!! Mary is in a beautiful place and your father is welcoming her with wide open arms! May God allow you peace in your hearts and may all of your fond memories of your mother bring you joy. We meet many people in our life. Mary was a true friend and a beautiful lady inside and out. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet your mother and will always remember all of the good times and good talks we had. I feel blessed to have known her!! With love and serenity – all the very best!!
