Harper, Carl Joe

Of House Springs passed away on Saturday December 11, 2021. Carl was born November 7, 1942, in Mine La Motte, MO. to the late Carl E. and Lilly Pearl (nee Stacy) Harper. He retired from Chrysler after 34 years and was a member of UAW local 110. He also worked after retirement for Lowes for 12 yrs. He was a proud US Army Veteran having served in the Vietnam War and was a lifetime member of the VFW.

He spent much of his time after retirement with his stepchildren, being involved in their activities and teaching them things that he knew. He loved being outdoors, going on walks, watching western and war movies, going to rodeos and following the PBR.

He was the loving husband of Christine M. Harper (Cosgrove); loving stepfather of: David P. Bonskowski; Laura R. Bonskowski; Michael J. Bonskowski; Lucas R. Bonskowski. Survived by a sister: Carolyn S. Tripp, of Farmington, MO; nephews Mark Tripp and Jeff (Missie) Tripp; a niece Tammy (Mike) Hayes; two step grandchildren: Lucy R. Finley and Nora J. Finley; his great friend Ron Luaders; many brothers and sisters-in-law; family members and friends.

Funeral services were held by Kutis Affton Chapel privately for the family on Thursday December 16 followed by burial in the National Cemetery at Jefferson Barracks. Memorials may be made to Wounded Warriors or Camp Rainbow.

  1. Very nice memorial. Joe was a caring and sensitive man. He made my sister very happy and was a loving stepdad to her children. I will miss him.
