In Loving Memory

Hopkins, Kay F.

Kay Francesa Caroline Hopkins, nee Roubdioux, went into the arms of her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on July 29, 2023. Kay was born on 3 July 1938 to Lawrence Alford & Delia Frances “Bergermeier” Roubdioux in St. Louis, Missouri. As a child Kay & her parents attended Lafayette Park Baptist Church where she accepted Christ as her Savior. Kay graduated from Mckinley High School, in St. Louis in 1956. One of her childhood neighbors, Ross Hopkins would become the love of her life. They married on July 4, 1959. To this union two boys were born, Ross Carl Hopkins & Roger Carl Hopkins. Kay was a very active member of the Butler Hill Baptist Church in South County. She was a Sunday School teacher, belonged to WMU & sang in the choir. Later the family joined Canaan Baptist Church. She leaves her husband of 64 years, Ross Hopkins of South County, son Ross & his wife Tina of Warrenton, MO, son Roger & his wife Mary of Arnold, MO, Granddaughter, Abby & her husband Audie Prange of IL., Sarah & her husband Michael Wipfler and their children Matthew and Aubrey and Tabitha & her husband Abe Kinne and their children Sam and Leona, one Great Grandson & a host of sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, & friends. Kay was known for her smile, her contagious spirit, her love for children & that she lived & breathed her faith. God sent a little piece of heaven when He gave us Kay. We eagerly await the day when we will be reunited with her once more, in heaven. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor heights, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39

  1. Ross, so sorry to hear of Kay’s passing. Although we have not seen each other in many years have thought of you both often. Kay and I shared many good times when at McKinley High School and after. Remember so clearly the kindness of her Mom and Dad who especially drove us to movies or where ever we wanted to go before being old enough to drive or even go alone, so, so, many years ago.. Remember we 4 going to the Pancake House on Kingshighway one evening after a party/dance, as well as other outings we shared. Jm and I live in St. Peters now and doing well for two “seniors”, still trying to keep it moving.. Will try to get to the wake but if not please accept our sincere condolences and know we are thinking of you and your family.. God Bless

  3. My dearest Uncle Ross, I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful sweetheart, Auntie Kay. I can’t imagine losing a partner you spent 64 years with; it is simply unfathomable. I remember so many fun times when Mom and Dad would visit you and Auntie Kay and I would spend many an hour playing with Rossie and Roger. More recently, I am sooo glad I was able to see her and you in April of this year! Please know that I love you very much and have nothing but happy memories of both you and her. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Pammy
