Hornsby, Ingeborg “Inga” passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 17, 2020. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Larry Hornsby, her son, William (Bill) Hornsby, and her mother and father, Anton, and Irma Kottek. She leaves behind a devoted daughter, Tammy Braden, 2 granddaughters, Melissa Main (Jeremy Banas), Kristina Springett (Timothy Springett), and 7 beautiful great-granddaughters, whom she adored: Haylie, Kierstin, and Ashlynn Gardner, Haven and Abrielle Main, Rylee Springett and Julianna Springett. She was a wonderful sister-in-law to William and Pat Hornsby, aunt to Sherry Miller (Jack Miller), Rachel and family. Cousin to Thomas, Claudia Christ and family. Helga Kern, Sharon (Greg Lagge) and family, Susan, (Todd Ettleman) and family. She also leaves behind her loyal fur companions “her babies”; which were her entire life and stayed beside her till her last days; Bella, Heidi, and Hunter. She touched the lives of many friends, family, and even strangers. The love and compassion she had for those in need and those whom she loved made her the most selfless and compassionate woman of God. She brought so much joy, passion, wisdom, and inspiration to anyone that was blessed enough to have ever met Inga, as her family, friends, and fur babies gave her such joy throughout her life until her last days upon this earth.
She was born in Pikenhammer;//Karlsbad, Germany, and joined the Civil Service at the age of 18, where she met and married her husband of 53 years while he was serving in the United States Air Force. They both worked for Defense Mapping Agency until they retired in 1993. Afterwards she joined Coldwell Banker Reality-Gundaker, meeting many wonderful lifelong friends. She had a passion for all wildlife, especially her birds, Cardinals being her favorite, and feeding all the deer at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery was where she had some of her happiest days enjoying all the nature especially when she got her friends and family to share in the fun. Her dearest friends would join her at different times to feed the deer.
Services: Visitation services will be held at Kutis Funeral Home, on Lemay Ferry and Butler Hill on Monday, December 21, 2020. Immediate family will have viewing between 3-4 p.m., friends and family from 4-8 p.m. (25 people will be allowed at a time). A short prayer will begin at 9:15 a.m. at Kutis Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 proceeding to Queen of All Saints Church on Christopher Rd. for a 10:00 a.m. Mass. Her funeral service will then be held on December 26, 2020; meeting at Kutis Funeral Home at 9:15 a.m., proceeding to Jefferson Barracks Cemetery at 9:45 a.m., where she will finally be laid to rest alongside her husband and son for eternity. (Only 10 people will be allowed during this part of the service). Anyone else is asked to stay in their car to hear the service. Our family cordially invites all who knew and loved her to come say their last until we meet again good-byes to one of the most beautiful, amazing and kind spirited woman whom spent her life devoting her entire being to all of her family, many cherished friends, and loyal companions. In lieu of flowers, donations are greatly appreciated to her favorite charity, Humane Society International.
