On November27, 2023, Gregory Lynn Huelsman, 71, of Imperial, Mo, passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, after suffering heart failure. He has been lifted to the heavens by God almighty and now lives with the angels.
Greg was married to his beloved wife, Betty for 52 years. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 2015 and enjoyed his retirement with family and friends, traveling to the see his beloved cows in the Ozarks, deer hunting and fishing. He was an avid St Louis Blues hockey fan, introducing his children and grandchildren to the game and his passion at a very young age. He was an avid storyteller who loved to laugh and tell funny anecdotes that we will all remember and cherish forever. Greg was great to have on your trivia team, as no one could hold a candle to his TV and movie knowledge. He was a stand-up guy who loved his family dearly and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He leaves behind his wife, Betty (Myers) daughter Cindy (Chuck) Klipfel and son Gregory Herman (Danielle) Huelsman. He was an adoring “Papa” to Rosie, Carter, and Baylee Huelsman; his siblings Bruce (Faye), Terry (Shelia), Robert aka Dutch, Jonnee (Geary), Kevin (Patty) and Kimberly (Tim); brother-in-law to Pat Sutton; uncle to numerous nieces and nephews; dear cousin, and friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Rosemary Huelsman, brother Keith Huelsman and grandmother Olinda ”Lynn” Raftery.
Greg was passionate about politics because he worried about the kind of world his children and grandchildren would inherit. He was a lifelong Democrat, compassionate, tolerant, and generous. In leu of flowers, donations can be made to a 2024 democratic candidate of your choice. In addition, donations can be made to St. Jude or the American Heart Association.
Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123 on Sunday, December 3 from 3-8 pm. with Funeral Service on Monday, December 4 at 9:00 am. Interment at St. John’s Cemetery (St. Cyr Rd.)
