Verill, I just saw that Dave is now at peace with his Lord. While this is a consolation for you and the kids/grandkids, there still will be sadness and difficult days ahead for all of you. We are in Minnesota, so cannot attend the celebration of his life. I will check in with you when we get home in October. With thoughts and prayers, Ellen & Bob.

Dear Johnson Family, God be with you all now and always.
The Stelmachowicz family knew Dave well, particularly regarding his connection to and dedication to young men in the Boy Scouts of America. He wanted those young men to learn, grow, and become the best they could be in Character, Citizenship, and Personal Fitness. Troop 780 was so fortunate to have him as a leader.
He oversaw the Eagle Scout Service Project of our youngest son Noah, and was an integral part of the Project of our older son Evan. Our kids both loved talking with Dave regularly at church, and listening to his stories and his unforgettable laugh! What a big kid he was too!
Evan, when he heard Dave had passed, said it best to me….”Sad. Dave was a great man. He helped us get to where we are.”
WE are so thankful and blessed to have known him and experienced all the love and caring he had to give to his church, and the numerous young men he helped in scouting.

It has been a privilege to serve as Dave’s pastor. I will miss Dave’s wit and matter-of-fact way of coping with his illnesses. His faith in the Lord Jesus gave him a perspective that many today miss.

I am so sorry for your loss. Dave was a much loved member of my choirs for several years and I was sorry to lose him when he left us. I always enjoyed his updates on his grandchildren, especially Derek and Kate who were participants in our summer music camp. Our thoughts and prayers are with the whole family.
