  7. Even though it was 20 years ago I remember it like yesterday, the first day that we ever fished together in Alabama. Abe snagged someones old lure and reeled it in. He made 2 mistakes that day, one he let me take a picture of him holding his catch and two he left it in my boat and I found it when I got home. So I had a prize for him the next year when we were on the same fishing trip. I had the lure mounted to a plaque and his picture holding it there also. The inscription on the plaque said Type: Old Crusty Lure/ Caught By: Old Crusty Man and the date. When I gave it to him we laughed and had to take pictures again. That was the beginning of a great relationship and strong friendship that will never be gone. My condolences to Carol and all of the rest of his family. I know he was a great husband, father and grandfather. His family meant the world to him as well as his closest friends. My wife laughed when she first met Abe. She commented on how he was so rough and tough when he talked to everyone but as soon as he got on the phone with Carol he melted. Abe you will be missed by many but not forgotten by any.

  9. My fishing buddy and dear friend. I will miss you greatly. My sincere condolences to your family. I really enjoyed making venison sausage with you and your son. Every slice I eat, you will be in my thoughts. You taught me lots about fishing, now you can give St. Peter a lesson. I know you are laughing about that. Goodbye my friend.

  11. My condolences to Carol and the rest of Abe’s family.
Over 20 years ago, Abe and I began a friendship in an AOL chat room. I guess I was the only gun smith in the room and,Abe had a lot to talk about. The following summer, Abe met with a group of us at the St. Louis Sportsmans club, where we enjoyed some skeet shooting and fellowship.
Abe often said his greatest accomplishment was that Carol chose him as her husband and the wonderful family that followed. Abe truly understood his blessings.
We met, from time to time and our schedules clashed from time to time.
What I enjoyed most about Abe was his dedication to Carol and his family and, Abe’s.honor and integrity. Abe was as honest as Sunday morning sunshine. I loved Abe as a friend and confidant and will regret the times we didn’t get together and cherish the time we had. God bless you Abe, see you soon.

  19. I’ll miss you Abe. Your stories and “don’t give a damn” attitude always made our club volunteer days that much better. There’s a reason I would call you and offer up opportunities before anyone else. Honestly, I always saw you as what my grandpa would have been like if he were still around. Things won’t be the same around ARPC without you. Rest in Peace my friend.

  21. I bowled on Wednesday nights with Abe at Shrewsbury Lanes (Gangs All Here league) for numerous years. Abe was always a pleasure to talk with and bowl against being supportive and providing high fives. Over the years, I thanked him for his service in the Navy many times. Abe always had his Navy hat on weekly. My condolences for your loss to his family.
