King, Judith Etzel

Judith (Judy) Diane Etzel was born October 11, 1939 to Earl William Etzel and Pauline Romaine Reed in Oil City, Pennsylvania. She attended Pin Oak Grade School and Cranberry Area High School and graduated as Valedictorian. In 1959, she married William Richard King, son of Samuel Walter King and Mary Elizabeth Gesalman. She then attended Chatham College and University of Pittsburgh, where she obtained her nursing degree. In 1964, the young couple adopted the first of their three children, Kristen Lisa. Steven Andrew joined the family in 1966 and William Ryan completed the family in 1968. Judy’s career included nursing and after obtaining her MBA from Wharton University, she became a Nursing Home Administrator. In her spare time, Judy enjoyed genealogy and travel to explore family history centers and cemeteries to deepen her knowledge of the King and Etzel families.

 

Judy and Bill enjoyed 54 years of marriage until his death in 2015. Judy is survived by children; brother Earl William Etzel, Jr, sisters Terri Etzel Blunt and Cindy Etzel Noble; grandchildren Toni JoAnne King, Pauline Alise McLain, Caleb Reed McLain, Ryan Anthony King, Tiffany Diane King, Samantha Amber King; and great-grandchildren Yetziva Liza Easely McLain, Abigail Megan Johnson McLain, Ezekiel Atom Robert McLain, and Maddison Gail Cullum.

A celebration of life will occur Monday, September 16, 2019 between 6 and 8pm, at Avion Ridge Club House 1778 Richardson Road Arnold, MO 63010

In lieu of flowers, Judy would appreciate donations to: Outville Presbyterian Church  6463 Outville Road SW Pataskala, OH 43062.
