  1. Please give my sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to Stephanie’s sister Mary and her nieces and nephews, as well as to all of her former colleagues and neighbors and friends. I knew her only as a village trustee and alderman, and a fellow gardener at Wayside Community garden for a few years. Several friends have spouses who have lived at Mother of Good Counsel Home when they needed extra help, and I am sure that the Sisters and staff there are grieving Stephanie’s loss, too. Unfortunately, on Monday morning I have another funeral….that of a friend in another church community who I have known for 50 years, and will be unable to convey these words in person. May the arms of God uphold you, the touch of Christ heal your grieving hearts, and the Holy Spirit bring you comfort. Amen.

  2. I send my sincere condolences to Stephanie’s family, her dear sister Mary and sister-in-law Nancy and her beloved nieces and nephews. I especially send my sincere appreciation to everyone at Mother of Good Counsel for the compassionate love and care they provided to sweet Stephanie, my dear friend. I met Stephanie at Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) in 2011 when she sat on my interview panel. I remember her piercing blue eyes along with her sharp wit and intelligence. We connected immediately and when I started as a new attorney she took me under her wing. She took great pride with teaching me the ropes and her patience ensured I learned from the best. Upon her retirement in 2015, Stephanie, Nati and I spent time together doing some of Stephanie’s favorite things: Shopping, eating out, watching movies, and going to the Missouri Botanical Gardens. We would take drives to see Christmas lights, attend the Symphony and even attended the Stray Rescue Art Auction. I will never forget one of Stephanie’s favorite nights– dinner and cocktails at Brio before the Downton Abby movie at the Frontenac Cinema, her favorite movie theater. Stephanie was always up for an adventure and loved a cold, refreshing glass of Riesling. When she moved to the Mother of Good Counsel, Nati and I continued to enjoy spending time with her there—we were welcomed with open arms by the Sisters and Care Givers at Mother of Good Counsel who clearly loved Stephanie and us. Stephanie’s beauty coupled with her sharp wit and unconditional friendship were priceless gifts to everyone but especially me. Sending my love to all those who knew and loved her as we grieve her loss.

  3. We started as co-workers then became friends. Michelle and I are going to miss you very much. We enjoyed some great restaurants, laughed at a few movies, and over all treasured our friendship. We will toast you with a Reisling or two at Brio. Think I’m going to miss your quick wit the most.
