  5. Mary Jean & I walked every day to Resurrection Grade School for 8 years. Played tag under the street light on South 39th street. Then waked over a mile to St. John’s High School for 2 years, until she could drive us in her Dad’s car from Sophomore to Senior year. We had some good talks and shared some good secrets.

I will miss her smiling face, but now I have a friend in Heaven, waiting for me.

The whole family will be in my prayers dealing with her being gone. I know she is happy where she is.

    Love, Connie

  11. Mary Jean and I have been friends since high school. We worked together at Kreesges dime store for 75 cents an hour Junior and Senior year. Then she worked at Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company in the Pierce Building downtown. I joined her there later. She changed jobs but came back later when a secretarial position opened. We worked side by side and chatted off and on during the day, and partied on the weekends. Many good times. Our trip together to Fort Lauderdale with two others from the office was a blast. Mary Jean was very special. She was our maid of honor and our daughters Godmother. John, you and Mary Jean were so happy together and she loved you so much. You have such a beautiful family together and you took such wonderful care of her. Since we live in Baltimore our times together we’re brief but treasured. John, you and your family are in our prayers. I wish we could be with you to celebrate her life, but covid safety is necessary as everyone understands. God bless you during this difficult time, but I know you are comforted with happy memories. Love, Sharon

  19. John, It is hard to say what is in our hearts. You and your Family have been in our prayers and will continue to be. You are not just next door neighbors but good friends. Mary Jean
has been on my mind these last weeks. I have missed her. Our talkies across the fence Our love of flowers, and books. takeing care of each others when we went on trips. The joys
we shared when the kids were getting married and then when the grandkids’ came. Even the dogs thought you were family. Mary Jean joked that she didn’t need to get the kids a dog because they could just play with ours. When we moved in over here with our dog Bear Dog, We would look out and see them in our yard playing with him and he was enjoying them. She was a kind and careing person. If you need any thing we are here, just accross the driveway.

With Love and Heart Felt Sorrow.

  39. Dear Lorentz Family,

I send my love and sympathy to you all during this time. Great Aunt Mary Jean was a lovely woman who I always enjoyed speaking with during family gatherings. I did not get to know her as well as I would have liked to, but her compassionate soul, kind heart, and gentle spirit never failed to touch me in the little time I was privileged to spend in her company. May this time be one to reflect on the many wonderful memories of her and celebrate the beautiful person she was.

I am sending love to you all during this difficult time. I will miss Aunt Mary Jean so much. She was such a gentle, kind presence who will be dearly missed. I remember the night before I had my son, George, we had the pleasure to share a meal with Uncle John, Aunt Mary Jean, Mom and Dad, and Jen and Corey. Tom and I were tired and distracted by the baby coming and Lucy was a busy bee, buzzing all around the house as we visited. Aunt Mary Jean kept up with her, all night, playing with her and keeping an eye on her. I will always remember that night and the love Aunt Mary Jean had for her family and friends.

  51. I don’t know how many kids Mary Jean was Godmother to, but I was one of them, and I’m sure one of those babies she held in her arms (there are pictures). Mary Jean was a teenager when she became my Godmother, and judging from some of the pictures – I was one of her dress-up dolls. I have a special memory of Mary Jean and John asking me to be one of the acolytes at their wedding, an honor I always cherished. And through the years at those Mosblech picnics it always made me glad that Mary Jean and John made a special effort to seek me out when I arrived, just to catch up me and my life. Mary Jean took care of me too. Godspeed Mary Jean. Mary Jean – say hi to my Mom and Dad (Virginia and Del), the Giraudo girls were their first kids. Thanks to Mary Jean and John for letting me be part of their lives.

  57. Dear John & Family,

Thanks’ to all of you for your love & care for my sister through out the years.

Growing up as the youngest of the Giraudo girls I had a lot to live up to. I have so many great memories of her generosity: she was the one who willingly loaned Sandy & I her clothes to wear so we could go to dances, she taught me how to drive saving me from my Dad’s ire & since she was normally on dates on weekends let me use her car. We also spent time together playing tennis, going to baseball games & many times she asked me to sub on her bowling team.
Observing her as a mother I was always amazed of her patience, I remember being at the lake and her brushing the girls hair, they would often yell when she was getting knots out of their hair each day. That’s when I knew it was a good thing I wasn’t a mother, because I would have cut their hair short.
She was a wonderful sister & she will be missed.
