STEVEN M. MANESS, 53 passed away after a brief illness on August 25, 2020. Steve was born May 22, 1967 to Bobby and Sybil (Speaks) Maness in St. Louis, Missouri and lived his entire life in Lemay. He was the middle of his three siblings, Leroy and Sandy. Steve was a mechanic making his career as an employee of the City of Clayton. Steve married Kathy Brooks on March 17, 1991 and she survives.
Steve had many family members as well as friends that were family members. Those that knew him will remember his kindness, smile and willingness to help anyone that needed it. Steve was a son, brother, nephew, husband, uncle, and friend to many. Steve’s favorite hobby was hanging out with family and friends. Steve would pick up the phone to call someone just to say hi.
Steve leaves behind his wife Kathy, Stepfather Kevin Gebhardt, brother Leroy Adams, sister Sandy Miler. He is preceded in death by his father Bobby Maness and mother Sybil Gebhardt as well as many other family members and friends .
Cremation rites to be accorded. At this time , there will be no services. There will be a celebration of life picnic August, 2021 when we will be able to smile and celebrate his life, accomplishments and friendship. Donations to the donor’s choice.

Steve embraced my family like we were his own. Could have smacked him we he gave my son his first water gun, or shall I say water cannon, but they had a blast. Daniel still has his water cannon Uncle Steve gave him. He will be missed.

I am still in shock to know that we lost such a wonder human being. Steve, Sandy and Leroy have been in my life for 49 yrs. Steve was one of the most genuine, sweetest, loving person I have ever met in my entire life. We have many many memories and not of them was not great. My heart hurts and im still in disbelief. My heart goes out to the entire family and friends. Steve will be so missed. The only thing I can think that God took him so soon is he needed Steven to be an Angel to watch over his loved ones. I will miss u Brat. I will never ever forget u. See u one day.
