Jan met the love of her life, Brooks, when her cousin, Herb, set them up on a blind date; that was August 15, 1951. Sharing a love for dance, their first date was dancing on the Admiral. They moved in rhythm with each other both on the dance floor and throughout their lives. Brooks’ dreams and goals became her aspirations too. They were adored partners to the end, supporting and loving each other more every day. Along with dancing, Brooks and Jan shared a love of family, golf, tennis and traveling. They certainly had a beautiful and happy union, filled with fond memories and laughter over their 72+ years together.
Jan treasured her family. Their home quickly filled with love and laughter, as they became the parents of seven. Dance and music resonated in their home; Neil Diamond and CCR were among her favorites. She loved attending her kids’ and grandkids’ multitude of events. Holidays with all the family was her joy; creating scavenger hunts and cherished memories. She never missed family members’ special days with Hallmark cards which she personalized with heartfelt words, turning these cards into keepsakes. Whether it was a challenging game of Chinese Checkers, or a simple card game, Jan enjoyed time with her family. The last few years, Friday nights were filled with pizza, stories, and cards. She was charitable with both her time and treasures; volunteering and supporting many local charities. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, and will remain forever in our hearts.
The family would like to express extraordinary thanks to her care friends: Michele B. and Kelly E.
