In Loving Memory

McGrory, Ruth Ann

of St. Louis passed away Friday, October 5, 2018, at the age of 83. Ruth Ann was born on March 31, 1935, in Kansas City, Missouri, to William and Mildred (North) Carter. When she was younger, Ruth Ann and her siblings, the late Bud Carson (Carter) and the late Rose Lea (Carson) Owens, migrated from Kansas City to St. Louis where she would spend the rest of her life. During her childhood she attended Saint Gabriel Elementary School, and Notre Dame High School, the latter of which she graduated from in 1953.

On August 6, 1955, Ruth Ann married the late Cornelius J. McGrory. Together they had eight children; Mary, Michael, Maureen, Mark, Matthew, Mick, Melissa, and Martha, whom Ruth Ann helped to raise and love. In addition, Ruth Ann had a niece who she helped raise, Theresa Mueller (Owens).  Ruth Ann was a homemaker and a caregiver to many family members and friends.  She was a member of Seven Holy Founders Catholic Church in St. Louis, Missouri, where she was an active participant, helping as a Eucharistic Minister and frequent volunteer. Ruth Ann was also actively involved in the CYC Volleyball program for many years.

Above all, Ruth Ann was devoted to her family. She was invested heavily in the lives of her children and her grandchildren whom she loved with the fullness of her heart. Ruth Ann was a wife, mother, and grandmother whose love was unconditional, and whose presence could bring a smile on anyone’s face. Her love was contagious, and she always made sure to put the needs of those around her first. She will be greatly missed. Ruth Ann is survived by her 8 children, 29 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, 3 Nieces, and 2 Nephews.

In honoring Ruth Ann’s wishes, there will be a visitation at Kutis Funeral Home on Friday, October 12th, from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M., and the funeral mass on Saturday at 9:30 A.M. at Seven Holy Founders In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
