Meister, Kenneth E.

Kenneth E. Meister, son of George E. and Bernice nee Dunlap Meister, was born January 5, 1944, in Saint Louis, Missouri. He was baptized during infancy at Bethesda Evangelical Church, where he was also confirmed. Ken attended St Louis Public Schools and graduated in 1962, from Hancock High School. Following graduation, he was employed by National Lead. He then worked for Harvard Interiors, where he remained until his retirement at the age of 62 in 2004.

On December 1, 1962, he married Janet Lucille Scott with whom he enjoyed 60 years in nuptial estate. Janet survives, together with their children, Tracey (James) Nieters and Renee (Robert) Stevens; grandchildren, Lindsey (David) Russo, Ryan (Mary) Nieters, Jake (Sara) Stevens and Brett Stevens; and great-grandchildren, Kylie Renee Russo, Roman Michael Russo, Treyston James Nieters, and Elena Bella Noce. Ken is also survived by other relatives and long-time friends. Ken was preceded in death by his son, Brett Scott Meister, who died in infancy.

Ken loved boating at the Lake of the Ozarks, car racing, Nascar and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially with his great-grandchildren.

Ken experienced relatively good health, until the advances of age began to weaken his condition. On April 7, 2023, he was diagnosed with liver cancer and shortly after, was placed on Breeze Hospice, in his daughter’s residence where he received the love, care and attention of Tracey, Janet and other family members.

Finally, mid-day Sunday. August 27,2023, at 11:34 AM, he peacefully departed life. He attained the age of 79 years, 7 months and 22 days.
