Naraine, Waveney W. (nee Ghent)

Waveney Winifred (Ghent) Naraine was born in Georgetown, Guyana on June 22, 1943. She entered Heaven’s gates on October 19, 2018.

A dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, intercessor, friend, and Sister-in-law to name a few; was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends. Over the years, she collected angels and dolls from around the world. She also loved to watch nature and the Game shows as this kept her mind stimulated. She was also a sports fan, and enjoyed watching baseball, basketball, boxing, and wrestling. She was someone that everyone could go to for advice and friendship. She was a woman of wisdom and substance.

Waveney had an unwavering faith in God. She was a faithwalker. She was very involved with Ministry. She attended Bible school prior to marriage, and stood by her husband’s side with all aspects of the Ministry. She was an Intercessor. She passed that importance on to her children. Waveney was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Ralton “Joe” Naraine Sr. and her parents, Philip George, and Pearl Rosaline Ghent . She was also preceded by her brother Josef Ghent and sister Veronica Whittaker. Waveney is survived by her daughter, Shawna Naraine-Lathan, son-Ralton Wayne Jr., daughter Ronica Adams (Alonzo) and son Andrae Naraine (Nicole). She is also survived by eight wonderful grandchildren, Phillip Joseph (PJ), Akiel Joshua, Amariah, Alondra, Alyana, Dylan, Greyson, Nalia. She is also survived by her Sisters: Yvonne M., Esther and Lydia Ghent.

The funeral service celebrating the life of Waveney Naraine will be held on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at 9:30 am at Kutis Funeral Home Afton Chapel (10151 Gravois Rd., St. Louis, MO 63123); Burial service will follow at Park Lawn Cemetery (1800 Lemay Ferry Rd., St. Louis, MO 63125); and Repass will be at Grace Assembly of God, 1807 Charleston Estates Dr. Florissant, MO 63031
