Barbara (Bobbie) Pahmeier passed away on Sunday, October 20, 2024. A rural Missouri native, Bobbie was born in 1933 to Elizabeth and Steven Lawson. After working at various jobs, including a stint as a switchboard operator, Bobbie married Robert (Bob) in 1956 and began her long life of caring for and nurturing those she held dear, and that list of people is a long one.
Bobbie was a stay-at-home mom for the first 15 years of her marriage, serving her children and community by volunteer work as a Room Mother for all three of her daughters, a Girl Scout leader, and a March of Dimes ambassador, in addition to other organizations. She was particularly active in her church, chairing several committees, volunteering her office skills, ushering at weekly services, and attending Mary/Martha meetings. Ultimately, she returned to the traditional workforce as an administrative assistant with the Webster Groves School District, a position she held for 23 years. She loved her work there and became a true booster of both high school football and basketball, attending nearly every game and following the careers of students who went on to play college ball.
Bobbie was also, as might be expected, an avid Cardinals fan, and once her grandsons started playing hockey, she added the Blues to her sports schedule, watching games and talking about strategy and player potential. If you wanted to know anything about sports, Bobbie was your go-to person.
Not one for air travel, Bobbie had a passion for road trips, both with friends and family. Her favorite trips included those out West to visit her daughters and grandsons and those she took with friends to Memphis, Tennessee, and Montreat, North Carolina. She also loved being near water, especially on her visits to Gulf Shores, Alabama.
Bobbie will be profoundly missed by everyone lucky enough to have known her. She was preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings (Mary, Arthur, Thelma, James, Harriet, Jerry and Isaac), her beloved husband Bob and daughter Brenda Kay. She is survived by her daughters Gailmarie (Don), Carol (Jerry), and son-in-law Brad (Brenda Kay); her grandsons Carson, Dylan and Luke (Madeline); and great-grandchildren Gwen, Anderson, and Charlotte. The family extends much love and gratitude to niece Mary Ann, nephew Duane, and friends Norma and Martha.
The family will host a celebration of life on December 6th at 2pm at Peace United Church of Christ, located on the campus of Eden Theological Seminary, 483 E. Lockwood Ave, Webster Groves, Missouri. Bobbie will be at eternal rest with her husband Bob at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
What a wonderful spirit! Will always remember her laughter and warmth
I will miss Bobbie’s sense of humor and baseball enthusiasm and especially her love for Family and friends, far and near. Bob and Bobbie together again. Condolences to family and friends.
Bobbie such a wonderful person, so loved her and Bob’s company
Loved Bobbie! She was so much fun! She was a wonderful person who loved her family, friends, and church fiercely. So glad to have known her.
Bobbie was a wonderful person to work with, to party with, to be with. Always helpful, kind, thoughtful — a breath of fresh air each day I went to work with her. She will be missed, truly.
