In Loving Memory

Palacios, Joseph Ramon

Joseph Ramon Palacios,  passed away on December 28, 2020 at the age of 73 after a three year battle with liver cancer. He was at home surrounded by his wife, children and granddaughters.

Joe was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 6, 1947 to Virginia Lee Agnew and Jose Ramon Palacios. He was the oldest of five boys, whom he both mentored and protected.  He grew up in Brentwood, Missouri, where he loved living with his Mema and Bepa and playing in the neighborhood.

He enlisted in the Air Force in 1966 and served four years.  Upon his return, Joe worked at Southwestern Bell for 26 years before striking out on his own to found several successful businesses.

Joe married Judith Ann (Meyer) on April 23, 1976, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in St. Charles, Missouri.  He loved his family and traveling the world.  He was full of joy and always had a smile, quip or tall tale to share.  He enjoyed time at The Lake of the Ozarks boating and entertaining his family.  His interests included history and Sci-Fi.  After retirement, he enjoyed fiercely competing against Judy in Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. Joe loved a good argument, and rooting for the Cardinals. However, few things gave him as much pleasure as talking with his granddaughters about what their futures could be.

Joe is survived by his wife Judith (Meyer) Palacios, his children Jennifer (David) Klemm, Phillip (Jessica) Palacios, Kathryn Palacios and granddaughters Madelyn and Adelle Palacios, his siblings Steven, Dennis, Neil, James, and Kyle Palacios, Teresa Palacios Brewer and Linda Wood Ehrhart, and his beloved dog Otis.  Joe is preceded in death by twin children Susan and Gregory Palacios, his father Jose Ramon Palacios, his mother Virginia Lee Agnew, and brother Gene Palacios.

Services: Visitation will be held at Lutheran Church of Webster Gardens, 8749 Watson Rd, Webster Groves, MO 63119, on Wednesday, January 6, from 10 a.m. until time of service at 12 noon. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Alpha-1 Foundation at www.alpha1.org
