In Loving Memory

Peterson, Dolores (DeeDee) Rita

November 26, 1929 - July 19, 2025

It is with a heavy heart to announce the passing of Dolores (DeeDee) Rita Peterson (nee Holtkamp) who is now resting with her late husband Charles (Bill) William Peterson, Sr.

She is survived by seven of her eight children, Charles, Jr. (Jill), the late Richard (Ann), Peggy Roberts (David Kollmann), George (Nancy), Barbara Wren (Michael), Walter, Mary Duban (Tim), Patricia and her dear loving sister Shirley Glastetter.

She came into this world on November 26, 1929, and peacefully passed with her loved ones by her side on July 19, 2025, at a wonderful age of 95. She had a full life and was the Monarch of her clan of 8 children, 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and many more to come.

She loved being with her family and friends. She was artistic, creative, and kind, with a heart of gold. She will always be remembered for her endless sewing projects, ceramic mold and firing skills, painting of many ceramics, reading of many books, the love of her coconut popsicles, her spaghetti salad, her large doll collection, taking long walks, being the cafeteria lady, her love of Christmas, and not to forget to mention, her 8 children.

She was loved by many and will truly be missed. May she rest eternally in peace with her husband Bill, son Rich, grandson Brandon Bournstein, parents Pop (George Holtkamp) & Tranny (Frances Holtkamp nee Dierker), brother George Holtkamp and all those who went before her, may God bless her soul.

  2. Sending love and prayers. Delores was there as a distant cousin when I needed support. I know my grandmother Loretta Eckdahl loved Delores and her sister Shirley. I’m happy I knew her.

    • Hello Kellie this is Rich Dierker. Your Grandmother was my Godmother and my Aunt. Loretta never missed sending me a greeting card on my birthday or at Christmas time, I miss those cards. I tried to track you down over the years to find the status of your mother, Sandy. But I have had no luck and had not tried lately.
Dolores passing has opened a window to you and hopefully info on your Mom. I’ve heard that you may be in Maine. If you would contact me and share info I would appreciate it.
      Thank You

  3. One of the kindest and sweetest ladies I ever had the pleasure to meet. I was lucky enough to be dolores’s caretaker for almost two and a half years. I know how much she loved her children and her children were wonderful to her anything she needed or wanted they made sure she got it. I know she had gone through a lot of pain and she’s finally in heaven pain free but I know how much her family and friends will miss her. Love Jerri

  4. I truly treasured that Dolores hugged everyone like she was their own mother.

Love seemed to radiate from her.

She was a precious gem to her family and those around her.

Sending love to all who knew her.
