Dana,
That’s a beautifully written obituary.
Thank you.
With all you’re taking care of doing,
I appreciate your consideration.
I’ll see you Monday.
I remember your Dad was a pigeon flyer with my uncle Ken Stratman! My grandfather, brother and father, Louis Stauss, were all St. Louis fireman and knew him well. My condolences to all of you. It’s never easy losing a parent no matter how old they are. I’m sure he is with our Heavenly Father! Our prayers for all of you.
Terri Stauss Nava
Sending sincere condolences to all the Plumlee family.
Wayne was a gentleman and a great pigeon fancier. I raced birds against him in the Ilmo combine. I remember one time a mink killed all my youngsters and the MTP club stepped up and replaced my whole team. Wayne gave me a red check cock bird he said it was a Vernaza Jansen, I clock that bird many races winning a 300 mile combine race and even beat him in the shows with that bird he would give me hell, but in a proud way. That I managed to raise it. He even told me how to mate it with a certain female. I always love to hear about old stories he told about his career. Great man! RIP my friend.
Luke sat with his “ girlfriends” at the bi-monthly Roosevelt High School luncheons. He was such a great man, had so many stories to tell, had a great sense of humor, and in his 93 years was smarter than all the rest of us we thought at the table. We so enjoyed getting to know him and visiting with him every other month and we were very proud and happy when we were told he considered us his girlfriends. He had a wonderful life but that does it make losing him any easier. At 93 “he was as sharp as a tack” my father would have said. . He will be missed by his family and friends, we know, and we at the Roosevelt luncheons will miss him terribly. We all loved him. My sincerest condolences to his family and friends. God bless him .
