In Loving Memory

Sagitto, George Ciro

George Ciro Sagitto 62, of St. Louis, Missouri passed away peacefully December 15, 2020 with family members at his side following a stroke. George was born in Richmond Heights on April 26, 1958 to George and Eta Sagitto and grew up in Richmond Heights. He attended Maplewood-Richmond Heights High School and graduated from South County Technical High School.

A lifelong fan of motorcycle and auto racing, George took many cross-country trips to attend his favorite races including almost yearly treks to the Indianapolis 500. In his younger days, he was an avid dirt biker and outdoorsman. An inveterate tinkerer, George had various motorcycle parts in his garage that he was “fixing up.” He was a shrewd real estate investor, often discovering bargain houses that he would buy and fix up and later sell at a profit.

George was a wonderful brother and lifelong friend to many. “Because I have a brother, I’ll always have a friend.” George was a true and loving friend to his four sisters Debra Sagitto, Janet McBride and Diana Luczak (of St. Louis) and Edwina Sagitto (of Munich, Germany), his nieces and nephews Laura, Sarah, Angie, Elena, Brian, Melanie and Benjamin and many cousins and several grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Funeral Mass to be held at Our Lady of Providence Catholic Church,  8866 Pardee Rd. 63123, on Monday, April 26 at 10 am. Inurnment Resurrection Cemetery.

  5. We are all very sad about George’s sudden passing. I have many fond childhood memories of my cousin, George. His father and my father were brothers who came over from Italy, first generation, so we saw each other often. He was just a year older than me, so he is definitely gone too soon. Prayers for George and his sisters.

  13. I knew George for more than 30 years, and I am so thankful that we got together twice during our last visit to St. Louis this February.
What a shock his sudden death is for all of us and especially for his sister Deb, whom he was so close to. George was such a gentle, charming and sweet man and a great brother to his sisters. In this sudden turn of events it is a comfort to me to see that George had so many friends, old and new.
George: a beautiful soul that will never be forgotten!

  17. Sincere condolences to George’s entire family. I was blessed to know George and spend much quality time with him in our teens. George could always get the best concert tickets and we would all pile into his station wagon for the adventure. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
