  1. My memory of Otto that often comes to mind is sitting in his smoking area at Doris’ house in the garage. Just two old guys swapping thoughts and drinking a beer. Reflections on two lives – priceless.

    • We were Otto‘s neighbors on Providence Place years ago when we first built. We always enjoy talking to him and Barb and I still received Christmas cards from him. He looks so similar to my neighbor where I live now I mistakenly call him Otto many times. He was a very sweet man. May he rest in peace!

  2. Very sorry to hear of his passing.
We went to Holy Name Grade School and DeAndreis High School together. We were charter members in the College Hill Athletic Club. We had many a late night playing poker on Friday evenings and we had lots of good times enjoying friends at our club picnics.
He loved his boat and was happy to give everyone a chance to ride the waves with him. Otto was a true gentleman and a very smart Scholar and a very good friend.
He also had a great sense of humor and everyone enjoyed listening to him share his wisdom.
    He will be missed.

      • Hello John
        Good to hear from you.
It has been a long time. My job transferred me out of St Louis back in 1977. I have moved around to Louisville , Atlanta, Long Island New York, New Jersey and back to Louisville

When I saw your message it brought back many memories like the snow parties at your house on Bissel. The hill was steep and the metal mattress had sharp blades which meant we flew down that hill and crashed into the barricades at the bottom.
        It was a blast.
I also remember how you would demonstrate your dancing skills especially the Shag. I don’t believe I have ever seen anyone else dance the shag as good as you.

You and I are blessed to still be here. It is just a matter of time so I just take it one day at a time.

I did not know Otto had fallen in his home.
My wife fell in our house last December and had I I not taken her to the hospital she would have died as well.
It turned out she had broken her neck.
The doctor said it was good I brought to the hospital.

        Take care
        Gus

  4. Otto, the only Otto I every knew. One of a kind, easy going and sweet as a man can be. High School, Harris Tech and on to Washington U. with my brother Charlie leaving me in the dust, but alway down to earth.

Golfing with Otto was special. Had to laughed when he missed a shot and had a few words I cannot repeat or their special Otto delivery. Cards will never be the same. God Bless and Keep You My Friend

  5. Farewell my life long life. I will not forget the great times you, I and Bob had together over the last 77 years especially those at Holy Name, boy scouts, DeAndreis H. S. and those early bachelor days. You have been a true friend. It was always good to visit with you when I came to St. Louis especially our last visit 16 months ago. I will miss our birthday and Christmas exchanges. God keep you my friend, I am sure He will love your dry sense of humor.

  6. I went to DeAndreis High School with Otto and always thought of him as a very sweet, kind, and soft spoken gentleman. The last time I saw Otto was at one of our class reunions and he never changed one bit. Otto will be sorely missed by all whose lives were touched by him.
