In Loving Memory

Sarber, Steve R.

Steve Sarber, 71, passed away on Sunday April 20, 2025, in St. Louis, Missouri. Born on September 13, 1953, in Oregon, Illinois, Steve lived a life marked by devotion to his family, faith, and the community he served. In 1992, Steve founded White Dove Window Cleaning, a business that reflected his dedication and entrepreneurial spirit. What began as a personal endeavor for him and Linda, grew into a lasting legacy—today the company continues under the leadership of his son Nick. Steve took great pride in building something that would serve not only his family but also the wider community.

Steve shared 42 years of marriage with his beautiful wife Linda. Together they raised three sons: Nick (Fran) Sarber, Josh (Kylie) Sarber, and Steven (Crystal) Sarber, who preceded him in death. His role as a father was one he cherished deeply, and that love only grew with the arrival of his grandchildren—Randy and Rachel Sarber; Payton and Abby Sarber; and Quinn, Henley, and Arden Sarber. Known affectionately as “Papa”, Steve treasured every moment spent with them. Whether cheering from the sidelines or sharing moments with them at home, he was always present with warmth and joy and plenty of ice cream!

A man of deep faith, Steve regularly attended Oakbridge Church. His spiritual life was central to who he was—a guiding light for those around him. He wanted everyone to believe and trust in Jesus.
Steve had a zest for life that extended beyond work and worship. He loved traveling with Linda; their favorite adventures were aboard cruise ships exploring new places together. At home, he was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Cardinals baseball, always ready to invite anyone over to his bar to root for his teams. But above all else, it was time spent with his family, and friends that became family, that brought him the greatest happiness.

He is also remembered by those who knew him for his humor and larger than life personality—traits captured in the nicknames “Stevetta” and “The King.” His presence filled every room with laughter and love.

Steve was preceded in death by his father Charles Sarber; two sisters; a brother, and his son Steven. His memory lives on through Linda; Nick and Fran; Josh and Kylie; his seven grandchildren; his nieces Tammy and Tracy, and all those whose lives were touched by his kindness.

Services: A memorial service celebrating Steve’s life will be held on Sunday May 4, 2025, from 1PM until time of service 3 PM at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd St. Louis, Missouri. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a man whose impact will be felt for generations.

  1. My Uncle Steve, it’s hard to put in words how very much I loved him. When I was young, he was my protector, my friend, my playmate. He was 4 years older than me and let me follow him around. He let me listen to his Elvis albums as long as I didn’t touch anything. I remember the day I told him I was naming my son after him. So many times he made me laugh and smile. I will always remember and love him.
Linda, Nick, Josh and all your family. I am so sorry for your loss. I see him in all of you. He is at peace and will live on in all of you.
