James W. Schlumm was born on February 12, 1940 to Joseph and Pansy (nee Lester) Schlumm in Pierce City, MO and entered rest on Tuesday, November 14 at the age of 83.

James was the loving husband of Betty (nee Albrecht) Schlumm. Dear father of Jori Costello, James Schlumm, Stephanie (Fred) Sitzes, and the late Scott (Lisa) Albrecht. Loving grandfather of Michael Albrecht, Emily Albrecht, Shaw Sitzes, and Samuel Sitzes. Dear brother of Christopher (the late Norma) Schlumm, Leo (the late Ruby) Schlumm, and John Schlumm. Dear uncle, brother-in-law, cousin and friend to many.

James served proudly as a St. Louis City Firefighter. He was an avid angler who loved to read, and enjoyed working in the outdoors. “He was our hero!”

SERVICES: A committal service with Military Honors will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery on Friday, November 17 at 9 am. A service of Kutis South County Funeral Home 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd.
