I was so saddened to hear of George’s passing. May precious memories fill your heart, Dianne.
I know that it has been more than a year, but I have only learned of this today. George was a great friend to both me and my husband when we moved to Missouri from Texas.
There are many things about him we treasure:
First, George was generous. I still have two large terracotta masks from Mexico that he gave me hanging on my wall. This is my second home, and those masks were the first things to get moved and placed.
George was funny. We spent many times together making up titles for new Bearenstain Bear Books that I still have and laugh about today.
We loved George’s wide range of knowledge. We frequently asked him to be a part of our trivia teams and to our delight he agreed. Dianne even joined us once, and we won!
George was one of the most creative people I knew. My husband would describe some vision he had, and George would be able to sketch it out. The two of them would be able to share ideas to produce a final product. He willingly shared his gifts which I cherish.
I wish you, Dianne, and your children well, and I will keep George in my heart,
Gail
