Skrob, Philomena (nee Mleczko)

 

Philomena Skrob (98) passed away peacefully Thursday, December 17, 2020.

Philomena “Phil”, was born November 19, 1922 to John and Mary Mleczko in St. Louis Missouri.

Beloved wife of the late Adolph Skrob; loving sister of the late Walter Mleczko and Mary Andrus.

Loving mother of Mark Skrob, Patti (Rick) Anthes and the late Carolann Winterer and Stephen Skrob. She was blessed with six grandchildren; Rob, Scottie, Karen, Shane, Jessica, Danielle; nine great grandchildren; Deni, Alex, Sam, Annie, Alex, Dalton, Will, Cora, Ethan and one great great grandchild; Jaci.

Mom had a long and very rich life. A strong but gentle women with a wonderful smile who loved and connected with so many people no matter their age. Loved her family, all the kiddos, anything Polish, polka dancing, red roses, going to the casino and traveling. A frugal women who hated waste of any kind but hard to find a more generous person, with her time, special little gifts and always putting others before herself.

Mom lost her best friend and sister, Mary Andrus ten years ago. They traveled to Poland to visit the homeland of their parents and visit with cousins. Mom was able to travel extensively and loved visiting relatives whenever she had the chance.

She had a great sense of humor and always looked to the bright side! When asked her secret to a long life – “I have good genes, I just don’t have them on now!”

Services: Funeral mass Monday December 28, 10:00 AM at Seven Holy Founders Catholic Church. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. A celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials to Feed My People, Mother of Perpetual Help or Masses are preferred. A service of KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL.

    I was so blessed to get to know your mom, she truly had a heart of gold. I will cherish the memories I have of her. My favorite is when we would go camping and she would make us brownies and 6 hard boiled eggs where she would draw a smiley face on each egg!
