Smith, Stan A. entered into rest on Tuesday, October 3, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Ellen C. Smith (nee Walsh) for over 44 years; loving father of Christina (Michael) Pruitt and Aaron (Jennifer Guszkowski) Smith: cherished Papoo of Eva, Quinn and Talia Pruitt; dearest brother of Naoma (Late Jack) Peterson and a treasured brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, neighbor and friend to many.
Stan loved the St. Louis Life Style, St. Louis Cardinals, The Hill, St. Louis BBQ, Sunday family dinners and everyone was invited. Stan loved cars, he had a passion to restore, rebuild, race and enjoyed many car shows. He never met a stranger and was a friend to everyone; especially his neighbors on San Simeon Dr.. Though he enjoyed many things in life, his greatest joy was being married to the love of his life Ellen, and spending time with the family they created together. Stan will continue to live in the hearts of those he met along the way.

Uncle Stan blessed us with many wonderful memories and was a great source of humor and joy. I will always appreciate our time spent together and remember his fun-loving attitude.
Stan defined what respect was for me as a young man. He was a true professional in every way and I have always looked up to his example. I am a better person for knowing him. My condolences to the family.
From an 11 y.o.:
Stan was a great man and friend. He always wanted to know what was going on with me. He loved baseball and loved hearing about my baseball and teams. He was a really great friend and I am going to miss him a lot.
I am going to pick a baseball tournament and dedicate it to Stan “The Man”, my friend.

My condolences to Uncle Stan from my mother and I. We first met him at my wedding and we will always remember his kind smile and cheerful attitude. We will miss him truly!
I feel so grateful that our family was able to really connect with Uncle Stan these last 14 years. First, when our kids went to summer camp in the Missouri Ozarks several years in a row, and later when our youngest son chose to go to school nearby. Uncle Stan introduced us all to the joys of Cardinals baseball, and we are still Cards fans! We always tried to fit in a game when visiting. My son Konrad bonded with him through their shared love of muscle cars, and he made it to a few of his college events. We were lucky to have Uncle Stan come to several important family milestones in the last few years – Nykolai’s wedding and Konrad’s graduation. He had a great chuckle and if was fun to make him laugh.
