In Loving Memory

Spinner, Beverly A. (née Remspecher)

October 4, 1932 - July 5, 2025

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Beverly Ann Spinner (née Remspecher) passed away peacefully on July 5, 2025, at the age of 92.

Beloved wife of the late Frank K. Spinner for 71 years. Beverly was preceded in death by her husband Frank; foster parents, Agnes and Eugene Junge; mother and father, Florence Brown and Elmer Remspecher; sister, Dorothy Rittman; brother, Elmer Remspecher Jr.; stepbrother, Eugene Junge Jr.; and brother-in-law, Donald R. Spinner.

Loving mother of Frank Kenneth Jr. (Anne), David (Jane), Steven (Gracie), Mary Christine (Russell) Gallas, Gregory (Sandra), Thomas (Lisa), Michael, the late Elizabeth Ann, and Paul (Caroline) Spinner.

Cherished grandmother of Timothy (Mari), Robert (Angela), Sara (Martin) Modray, James, Lisa (Chris) Kogel, Mark (Amanda), Jason, Anna (Gary) Keim, Theresa (Timothy) Smith, Elizabeth (Grayson) Dawson, Lauren, Katelyn (Alejandro) Correa, Claire, Jennifer Spinner (Eric Meszaros), Angie (Matthew) Nelson, Patrick (Marlena Johnson), Justin, Ellie (Grayson) Talcott, Julia, Ryan, Luke, and Andrew.

Adored great-grandmother of Wyatt, Travis, Cody, Tyler, Gwyneth, Avery, Stella, Oliver, Abigail, Owen, Audrey, William, Finley, Elliott, Milo, Levi, Leni, Max, Charlotte, Tripp, and Poppy.

Dear sister-in-law of Mary Spinner. Loving aunt to Anna (Jeff) Ponciroli and Andrew Spinner. She was a beloved aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and friend to many.

Beverly was born in 1932, the youngest of three children to Elmer and Florence Remspecher. After her parents’ divorce in 1935, Beverly and her older siblings, Dorothy and Elmer, were placed in an orphanage in South St. Louis. When Eugene and Agnes Junge came to adopt a son, they chose Elmer, but he refused to leave without his sisters. The Junge’s lovingly took in all three children, beginning a lifelong, devoted relationship with “Uncle Gene and Aunt Ag.”

Beverly graduated from St. John the Baptist High School in South St. Louis in 1950. She met the love of her life, Frank Spinner, through a group of high school friends. After dating for several years, they married in 1952, just before Frank was deployed to Korea. Upon his return, they began building their family, and what a family. By 1964, the Spinners had seven children, all under the age of ten (six boys and one girl). After the stillbirth of a daughter, Elizabeth Ann, in 1967, Bev and Frank welcomed another son (her favorite) in 1972.

Beverly dedicated her life to raising her children and supporting Frank’s career in banking. A devoted stay-at-home mother, she expertly managed a bustling household—cleaning, cooking, helping with homework, and always preparing a home-cooked dinner to be shared around their very large family table. Her ability to fry chicken, fold laundry, and answer math and history questions all at once was nothing short of remarkable.

She found joy in preparing the home for holidays, especially Easter, Christmas, and the family’s legendary Fourth of July party. “Frank’s Fabulous Fourth” began in 1954, when Frank and Bev invited childhood friends and their families for a day of barbecue, swimming, and fireworks, a tradition that continues to this day at the Spinner home in Crestwood.

In later years, Beverly enjoyed playing bingo with friends several nights a week and was a devoted fan of the St. Louis Blues and Cardinals. Though she rarely attended games in person, she never missed one on TV, keeping score in a binder she kept at her side table.

A devout Catholic, Beverly was a member of Our Lady of Providence Parish for over 60 years.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Family Partners Home in Manchester, MO, where Beverly spent the last two years of her life, and to the de Greeff Hospice House at Mercy South for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the de Greeff Hospice House.

  2. So blessed with a long life, but even with all those years I know they were not enough for those who held Beverly so dear to their hearts. To all her loved ones, I extend my deepest condolences. May the countless, fine memories of your beloved Beverly forever warm your hearts and bring smiles to your faces, even behind tears shed. May you find comfort in knowing that death was never God’s plan, (Gen.1:28; Rom.5:12) and one day death will be no more, (Rev.21:4) as loved ones will be resurrected (Acts 24:15) with the hope of life forever in paradise, on earth, (Ps.37:11,29) as God intended. Cherish the hope and the countless beautiful memories of sweet Beverly.
