Stewart, Gloria J.

Gloria June Stewart was born in New Orleans, LA, on June 2,1942 and died surrounded by family on July 2, 2022 in O’Fallon, MO. She was the daughter of David and Lois Stewart.

She was baptized in 1942 at St. Paul Episcopal Church in New Orleans, LA. and was confirmed in 1957 at Concordia Lutheran Church in Kirkwood, MO.

After graduating from Webster Groves High School, Gloria earned a BA degree in Education from Southeast Missouri State University. She continued her education in 1980 when she received a Master of Arts degree in Education from Webster University. Gloria taught for many years in the Fox School District before moving to the Bayless School District where she dedicated 22 years. She retired in 1994 after a full and gratifying career.

Gloria loved traveling all over the United States and internationally. She collected stories, match books, and participated in culinary adventures.

She enjoyed entertaining friends and family, decorating and caring for her home, working in the garden, reading a good book, watching movies, and playing Angry Birds.

Her generous heart found great pleasure in being “Aunt Gloria” to her 5 nieces and nephews, their spouses, and all her great nieces and nephews.

Breeze Park Senior Living Community became her home in 2015 where she participated in day-long bus trips, played cards and board games, bingo, painted, and enjoyed many other special events and activities with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, David.

Gloria was very loved by her family and friends; her infectious laugh and vibrant personality will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Services: Visitation at Breeze Park Community (600 Breeze Park Drive, Weldon Spring, MO 63304) on Thursday, July 14, from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Interment New St. Marcus Cemetery.
