  3. Ah, Larry. Only God knows why you had to go. We miss you terribly. But we also know you are at perfect peace. Someday we will see you again. You loved God and His word with a passion. A lot of us thought you went a bit overboard, but what mattered is your walk with Him. We were looking forward to your moving back to St Louis. We are sad but you have gone to a glorious place no one can explain. We love you Larry. Thank you for all the candid talks we had!! Til we neet again.

  5. Love and prayers for your mother my best friend since 1946, my beloved sister in law rather sister. Can not comprehend how her heart is broken as she buries a second son Her strong faith will get her through it all. She bore him knowing that she would give him back to God when He called. God bless His wife and daughter I ne’er had the opportunity to know you except from several family gatherings you were still always in my prayers as I prayed for family each day Today as we celebrate the Baptism of our Lord let us reconsecrate our lives to Jesus and live a life of love and service.

  7. There are no words to express the shock and broken hearts being felt in our family. I am focusing on all the great times we shared with Larry growing up, the umpteen birthday parties attended by everyone that always, somehow turned into a music party. The many picnics at Sylvan Springs park. Music is and always was a big component in the Pirtle family- and that tradition is carried on by many aunts/uncles, cousins and Larry’s daughter, Brielyn, who is an excellent drummer. This is a tragedy that is very hard to accept and comprehend. I have to believe Larry is with his Creator. I know he was a person of strong faith. Last year after the death of his Uncle, Bill Pirtle, he called me almost daily, checking on me, concerned about my well being. Larry was multi-talented, generous with his time, talents and musical instruments, especially guitars. He will always be greatly missed and never forgotten ❤ Aunt Carole ‘Pirtle’ Kearns.

  9. I’m at a loss for words. As a scoutmaster Larry was one of my “sons”. Prayers for all his extended family and special one to Jackie. As a parent I’ve always prayed my children would outlive me as I can’t imagine the sorrow of attending my child’s funeral. Jackie, you and Frank are to be commended for raising six boys, unfortunately two are no longer with us but with their creator. RIP Larry and again prayers to all. Georgie Porgie.

  13. I had not seen Larry for many years, but I had some good memories from my younger days with Larry. We traveled to Canada with a couple other guys and spent some time in a cabin in the middle of Lake Huron where we did plenty of fishing and canoeing. On our way back we also stopped in Chicago and celebrated Independence Day with a fireworks display in Grant Park. He also got to know some of my family when he was visiting in January( 1981 I think ) and his car got buried in a couple of feet of snow and spent a few days with us before we could dig his car out from the snow. He was always a nice guy and fun to be with.

  17. My mother Donna Reed was cousins with Larry and they were close for many years. Although I personally only met Larry twice in my life, I still remember both times I met him. The first time I spoke to Larry I was met with a very vibrant and friendly personality. My mom spoke very highly of him for many years and I could see why. He was a great and affable man. We’re all going to miss him a lot. I send my deepest condolences.
