Beloved husband of Carol Tate (nee Poth) and the late Roberta “Bobbie” Lee Tate (nee Conners); loving father of William V. Tate Jr. and Leslee (the late Michael Reitinger) Tate; adoring grandfather of Angela (Jonathan) McLain, James (Becky) Tate and Michaela Reitinger; cherished great-grandfather of Aria and Eleanor; dear step-father of Fred (Jane) Schmidt, Terry (Gina) Schmidt and Randy (Bette) Schmidt; dear step-grandfather of Ashley (Matt), Maxx, Jake, Dakota and Katelyn. Our dearest brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, cousin and friend to many.

Memorial visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123 on Saturday March 29 from 11:00 am. until Memorial Service time at 12:30 pm. Interment will be held in private. In lieu of flowers contributions to National Ataxia Foundation or Backstoppers appreciated.

  1. Bill will be greatly missed here at Friendship Village. He was a blessing to many and I loved having him as my “amen” corner. May the Lord give you comfort and strength in these days of grief. The entire Chaplain’s Department will miss him because he was an encouragement to all of us.
