Terry, Dolores

In Loving Memory

Terry, Dolores M.

April 28, 1931 - April 2, 2025

Dolores M. Terry (nee Breuhan), passed away peacefully surrounded by family on April 2, 2025 at the age of 93.

Dearest wife of the late Donald Terry.  Cherished mother of Judy (late Joe) Balleydier, Dina (Jim) Stoeppler and Alyssa (Mike) Feller.  Adoring Grammy of Melissa (Tim) Nies and Mike and Matt Balleydier, Adam (Sarah Furtado), Halle (Mehmet Geneci) and Sydney Stoeppler, Ben (Alison James) Feller, and Sophie (Nick) Derbak; Great Grammy of Amelia Nies. Sister, aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law and friend to many.

Dolores was one of 7 children. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Nellie (nee Schaales) Breuhan, and siblings: Alice Albro, Jeanette Berdak, Bob Breuhan, Toni Crespi, and Marie Greenwald.  She is survived by her devoted sister/cherished friend Cathy (Ray) Leiber.

Dolores retired from Southwestern Bell in 1992.  After that, her free time was spent in the company of her grandchildren, her Daffy Dilly friends, her sisters, and her dogs.  She loved to travel, and family trips with the Fellers were known for their laughter and adventure. She was a great cook and talented seamstress who created elaborate Halloween costumes for her children and grandchildren, but her Christmas decor is where she really shined.  Despite her struggle with memory loss over the past 13 years, Dolores never lost her sense of humor or her graciousness.  Her caregivers appreciated her contagious smile.  She was a kind and loving light that will be missed by many.

Special thanks to the devoted staff at Parc Provence who became like family to our Mom, including: Karen, Maria, Shakyra, Irma and Wanda; and to niece, Lori whose regular visits were always appreciated.

Visitation Thursday April 10th from 4-8 p.m. at Kutis 10151 Gravois.  Funeral Mass Friday April 11th at 9:30 at Epiphany of our Lord Church on Smiley.  Interment to follow at Jefferson Barracks.

Causes dear to Mom’s heart include St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Breakthrough T1D (formerly JDRF), Care STL Adoption Center, and the Alzheimer’s Association.

  1. What will my Saturdays be without Aunt Dee in my life? Aunt Dee, know that you are always a part of me, and when I hear our songs it will bring back happy, if not sometimes, sadness. I love you very much and go party with my mom Jay in heaven

  2. I have countless warm memories of Mrs. Terry. She was always welcoming and made me feel included in her family. She had the best laugh and happy disposition. I remember how she would do her ironing while listening to the Cardinals as we hung around your home – giving us space to be ourselves but there if we needed anything. There was always a place at the table for me and introduced me to a favorite – chili dogs! I was so fortunate to have her kindness grace my life. My love to all of you.

  3. Dear Judy, Dina,and Alyssa,
My memories of St Louis always relate to being able to visit your mom, my wonderful Aunt Dee. Her fabulous laugh, her beautiful brown eyes, and most especially her patience and sweetness when she’d invite either myself or one of my siblings to spend a week in the summer. Those were the best of times, and times that I’ll never forget.
Sending much love to all of you and your families…
    Your cousin, Kim

When we would go to visit in St. Louis, the visit to Aunt Dee and all of you was the highlight of the most enjoyable trip and always turned out great! We always felt welcome by your mom and that fine quality was also reflected in yourselves.
Thank you, stay smiling and love to all of you!!
    cousin Kevin
