Just visited with him. Sept. 8th. He had just turned 92, according to my aunt.
Thank you. Yes, he just turned 92.
We have fond memories of “Mr. Urberger” through the years, his interesting communication with the family around him when he became hard of hearing, jointly taking care of Charlie and Daisy and his presence at “movie night”. We will miss him.
Thank you
He was my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Coach & Mentor, …, I already miss him, …, Rest Well Thy Good & Faithful Servant……
Thank you, That is a great thing to hear.
I am so sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to all of his family and the many, many lives he touched. I was fortunate enough to practically grow up at his home where he cooked me and Kerri ‘dippy eggs’ and toast every weekend, shared his pistachios w/ us and ALL his change for Six Flags trips *secretly* we weren’t supposed to tell Phil or anyone! He saved Kerri from Bobby on numerous occasions bcuz we always snooped in his room – and got caught.
And, he was always smoking his cigar. He was such a happy man and truly kind. I will always think of him fondly.
Bob Urberger was my first wrestling coach in Bloomfield, Iowa in 1957. We just started our program and he gave us a wonderful start. I was sorry he left us after 2 seasons. I would have bee a much better wrestler had he stayed. I was watching a wrestling meet this evening (2-25-25) and thought of him. God rest your soul, coach.
